Miles Davis “Kind of Blue” Columbia reissue LP 180 gram Beautiful sounding LP.

Just released: live in Fukui, Japan 1987, two volumes. It's from the same tour as on "Live in Tokyo", recorded a week prior. The setlist overlaps with Tokyo somewhat, but not entirely. Ahmad Jamal “Emerald City Nights: Live At The Penthouse (1966-1968)” Jazz Detective/Elemental 2 cd set, disc 1 These Jamal releases from the Penthouse are all excellent–the playing draws me rigth in. Surprisingly well-recorded also.

Aaron Parks “Little Big III” Blue Note cd Pianist Aaron Parks, guitarist Greg Tuohey, bassist David Ginyard Jr. and drummer Jongkuk Kim. A quartet recording co-led by a guitarist. . . interesting, well-recorded 21st century jazz.
