Denon is sitting on a lot of music which should be reissued, including some great 70's live Max Roach with Billy Harper.

@mikeweil. Good call, that's the session that got Alice's overdubs for the Infinity album.

https://store.bluenote.com/products/ike-quebec-the-complete-45-sessions-blue-note-tone-poet-series?variant=44466687082687 Color me surprised ... already issued by Mosaic, is the market that big for the LP treatment? I do love Ike but can't say I pull this out very often - the short playing times and not really the greatest organ behind him. I don't see this being a big seller but what do I know.

Didn't know about the expanded reissue, thanks for the hint. Only had the Blue Moon reissue. Found a cheap copy from a German discogs seller and jumped at it. 😊

Modern bossa with Miho’s gentle sweet singing and a small jazzy combo with great arrangements. I have their follow up release as well.

Cool, rainy morning. Was a tiring day yesterday, fixed the motorized insulated blind on the main living room window, augured out a non-draining bath tub, and unsuccessfully attempted to fix the dryer–three things going wrong at once. I’m feeling like just melting into the chair this morning. Starting off with Grateful Dead, “Enjoying the Ride” box set, Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center, Oakland, CA (11/21/85) disc 2 Then on to. . .. Les McCann “Never A Dull Moment! Live From Coast To Coast (1966-1967)” Resonance Records 3 cd set, disc 3

And "At This Moment" is a classic of the blue-eyed soul style! Not to mention peak Alex P Keaton. Green smilie here. In all seriousness it turns out I don't seem to have those extra tracks and I may go about remedying that.

Billy Vera knows his shit. His work on the Specialty reissues was pretty damn solid too. Look at that though, how this video is credited to "Billy Vera", like Judy Clay was an afterthought. It never stops...

Agreed it is the best work they ever did by a longshot, the only label that truly captured their magic. Columbia did not know what to do with them, and Stax just tried to fit them into the Stax mold.

Markus Rutz - Many Moons picked this up on a whim from Dusty, due to the inclusion of Greg Ward on it. He's only on one track but it does include Sharel Cassity on a handful of other tracks which is a plus. On first listen I really enjoy it. Very modern compositions, in the vein of Roy Hargrove's Earfood if i had to compare. My jazz listening isn't as frequent as it used to be so I may be off with the comparison.
