That sir, .... is a male junkie or to say the least; a male heavy drugs(ab)user .... (heroïne).

Well, actually, that's not true. Yes, he did drugs for a limited time,
but to call him a heroin junkie is waaaay off the mark. He had more of a
bad time as a child with severe spinal meningitis than anything drug related.
He still feels, naively, that kids should be informed about drugs and that the
"government" should stay out of the business of regulation, but that's another issue.

Joe Henderson not surprisingly plays very spiritedly on this session.

Bob Belden's "Karu" This is an unissued session that Bob gave me years ago. I think he made it for (or was commissioned by?) a Miami nightclub of the same name. It's more of an ambient/trance/dance type of recording. I once asked Tim Hagans if he was the trumpeter on this but he never got back to me. It does sound like him.

It looks like it was intended to be a full album:

Karu 5:59

Ramsey 5:39

Ocean of Sorrow 5:34

Beach 5:07

Kinsey 5:09

K2 6:04

Floodplain 5:44

Man From Mars 3:16

Smooth 5:14

Trip 6:16

Stash was such a weird label. Cheesy/amateur artwork that was instantly identifiable as "Stash" but often great music inside.

Outstanding.  it's influences are apparent but it definitely has its own identity.  Some very good playing, especially from Chad Taylor and Kirk Knuffke

Two albums, one recorded live at Shelly's Manne-Hole and one in the studio, from the early 1960's.  This 2020 reissue includes brief introductory notes from both Terry Gibbs and Pat Moran.

C'mon everybody, let's "Hippie Twist" again like we did last century!
