  1. This material was recorded for SESAC Transcriptions. I have an EP 45 containing 4 of the pieces and the same cover art, as seen in this grouping of treasures from my middle school days.
  2. Undoubtedly a fascinating couple.
  3. I recently attempted making a change to the "Nessa Records" page (I did not create it, but have edited) and got this response - Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Nessa Records have been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG. ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made was constructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this message from your talk page, and then make the edit again. For help, take a look at the introduction. The following is the log entry regarding this message: Nessa Records was changed by 45.46.185.232 (u) (t) ANN scored at 1 on 2021-09-18T02:56:49+00:00 Thank you. 4. Received the set today and see they credit Sunenblick as a source so it mignt be the same.
  5. Had this on vinyl years ago - nice to get a cd. FYI, Dolphy's aboard
  6. Tomorrow night Rempis, Baker, Abrams & Ra at the Hungry Brain. https://hungrybrainchicago.com
  7. I got a shipping notice from CD Japan. I have the Zorthian material on DAT from a project I was working on for Uptown - back in the day. I'll be interested to compare them.
  8. The Trio 3 dates are worth checking out.
  9. I once threatened to shove a drum set up Mel Torme's ass. Charming fellow.
  10. I am curious about how many here actually saw/heard Coltrane in person. I heard the "classic quartet" at the Plugged Nickel twice (multiple nights each time), the augmented quartet with Archie Shepp at the Down Beat festival and finally the group with Alice and Mr Sanders at the Nickel again. I think personal experience colors impressions. I would welcome recollections of any live performances.
  11. The Bud Freeman records HutchFan has been posting reminded me of some trio recordings by Bud. First side B of this lp with Dave Bowman and Don Lamond followed by this Dot session with Bob Hammer and Mousie Alexander About 10 years ago I suggested coupling these session on one cd (to the folks with power) and it was ignored.
  12. When Bud spotted that record in my collection he remarked "The producer told me he had this wonderful Greek organist".
  13. I keep forgetting about this amazing set,
  14. I'm sure Wadada wanted each to be considered as a unit separately.
  15. No mention of Frankie Carle killed it. He was "the man" back then and Bernie Niero tried to kill him off. Nothing happening here folks, move on.
  16. Haven't listened to this in years.
  17. Good stuff. I now have them in the big Munch box.
