Exactly.

The label started as a lame imitation "new age" concern in the early '80s. It grew some to escape the beginning. I was so turned off by the beginnings I didn't follow. Sorry to see any label die.

Thanks for the report. I hate this about a dozen ways. -
In my world, nothing is hipper than Szigeti. :tup :tup (Do you know his Beethoven sonatas with Arrau? Bad sound, but the music ... ! Waiting for the Bartók/Szigeti disc right now, I bet it's amazing, too!) u are in for a treat.

In my world, nothing is hipper than Szigeti. 20th and 21st Century children working with ancient instruments, or reproductions lose music as they search for technique.

Black Saint/Soul Note Box Sets
Chuck Nessa replied to romualdo's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
1-0QA+19, Duet, Colors In Thirty-Third, Family Talk, Song For All Muhal was at the top of my list (with Julius) so I'm overjoyed I was afraid they wouldn't do a full Abrams set - looks like these are mostly large group/orchestra sessions Sightsong with Malachi is missing as is Duets and Solos but I figured that would be included in a Mitchell box. -

Black Saint/Soul Note Box Sets

The Muhal is incomplete. I can think of 5 missing titles off the top of my head. -
Not sure this will help but here is a note from Cuscuna that was stuck inside my box. Yes, I got a promo.

The two RCAs are the same recordings. I suggest the Mercury because of its reputation, not personal experience. -
I attended the recording of For Trio.

didn't know this reissue existed.

National House of Pancakes - as told to me by Nils Winther.

Just playing Nielsen's Symphonic Rhapsody, drifted off and then thought I was listening to Dvorak. Sorry if this is obvious to all but I just connected.

No doubt the set will be amazing but...... In January I received a solicitation letter looking for "shareholders". A single "share" is $5000 with a promised return of $6000. The projected expenses were over $90,000. Good luck to all involved; musicians, producers, shareholders, customers. I do understand the difficulty in a project like this but I just don't..........................

The Nessa Juggernaut rolls on
Chuck Nessa replied to Chuck Nessa's topic in Offering and Looking For...
FWIW, the release of ncd-29 completes the remastered reissue of the material in the Art Ensemble 1967/68 box. -
Same here. Whats the difference between the older and newer artists? Just guessing, but the difference some hear between bop/hard-bop and neo-bop? The difference between the music when it was fresh and the music when it was recreated by astute students of it? I got into the music just as the neo-boppers came out in force and I had/have no problem listening to both, but ... Dan is undoubtedly correct about this.

Better they should do a "Complete Prestige" disc including both takes of Yesterdays. -
Isn't this an advertising gimmick started by Audi?

I think this is a new Amazon record.

Seems reasonable to me for one cd. If you order more, not so much. -

FWIW, the Teddy Wilson Mosaic set is 5 cds. -
Some of the set reissued on Black Lion vinyl. The solo material is very fine.
