  1. I saw both groups over a couple of years and it seemed like a natural progression.
  2. Lots of personal agendas when musicians mention their favorites. I remember one of our members recommending only recordings where he got royalties.
  3. Yes, probably Feather. Can we consider this as fact now?
  4. The Japanese edition used the original lp artwork. The predominantly blue cover is from the Fantasy reissue.
  5. I ordered it from Mingus but he didn't sign mine. A friend at school ordered it after seeing mine and received the 2 lps in paper sleeves without a jacket, but Mingus signed one of the paper sleeves.
  6. They were legit - a co-op deal between Sue and Fred Cohen. I think he still has lps to sell.
  7. It is called publicity. I suggest you watch Mad Men.
  8. Maybe Todd Rhodes, if we consider music before bop.
  9. Are you talking about capturing streams with software like Audible, or the kind of offline options I referred to above (where you download the tracks, but they have to be synced monthly to verify you're still a subscriber)? I am talking about software to capture streams.
  10. I think you're underestimating the compulsion to own or collect. Streaming will probably become the prime way people listen. And I'm sure other formats will replace the download. But I'm sure most of us nutters will still be hoarding. You can download streams.
  11. Week long visit from daughter Carla, son Eric, his wife Amyrae and their daughter Eloise. For some reason the pic eliminates the strong women.
  12. Not what you are looking for but........... From the late '50s to the end of the lp era Toscanini was a huge part of my musical life. I also remember radio and tv broadcasts from the decade before that. After selling my vinyl I only purchased about 10 Toscanini cds. I wanted some more but finances restricted me. Now with the arrival of the huge RCA box I am transfixed. I may never listen to 70% of it again but the rest is just dandy.
  13. They were as common as robins in central Iowa when I was growing up. Never heard of one terrorizing anyone. Werf and his co-workers must be evil.
  14. Leon "Big Spider" Beck "Elephants" Jerold
  15. Received my $74.99 Toscanini box on Tuesday. With family here all week, I've only been able to enter it in my database and listen to Pictures At An Exhibition. Sounds great!
  16. I have been "Bixed" - check out the Radano book about Braxton.
  17. Sent again. Jim, let me know if this one arrives.
  18. Cheating a bit - listening to a cdr I made of 2 Musicraft lps by Georgie Auld. Great early bop band.
  19. Any money not taken by state sponsored Lotteries would be sopped up by the numbers man at corner or barbershop.
  20. How did I miss the Hammond Zone. Sorry.
  21. This is organ stuff. Maybe one of the mods will move this to its proper place and maybe Jim will respond.
