When we recorded Roscoe's Snurdy McGurdy (Dec 11 & 12, 1980) our kids, Eric and Carla (ages 10 and 6), were at the studio dancing to much of the music. A couple of weeks later at Christmas with the family, relatives were dismayed by the kids dancing to a cassette from the session. They could not see how anyone could have a "good time" with that music.

Hmmm.

Used to have it on a Crossroads lp. Dang.

Back in the day all the tape companies were pitching the "hottest" new tape to the studios. Seriously, I could go in the studio a week after a session and hear Ampex or 3M had new formulations I should try. This was great for Grand Funk but lousy for Roscoe and Braxton.

For those reading my earlier post (bitching about a post deleted) I was wrong. I made a post related to this thread in the "Bixing" thread and confused the two. Same subject(s) different thread.

True, but sometimes it happens almost instantly as the tape rolls. It is most obvious on recordings by solo wind instruments.
