  1. This is the only one beyond the Signals I can think of.
  2. Slaves often took the name of the owner. Ra probably came from "stock" bred on a Blount property.
  3. I've had the recording for years and never noticed it. If Persip screwed the time up by being Persip (complicated, not wrong), I'd think Carter was confused by him. This happens with some drummers - Wilbur Campbell used to screw up "newcomers" all the time. Edit to say I must admit my opinion is flavored by my preference for Persip over Carter.
  4. I have the TOCJ stereo disc and the original mono master on TOCJ-9064, the JRVG version.
  5. Very good players but the video gives me pause. The ECM name seems to put some sort of "clamp" on wonderful musicians.
  6. All the best Chris. Hope we can connect again in the future.
  7. Can't imagine Jim's problem. My iMac keyboard had a problem a few weeks ago (the "j" would not work) and I took it to the closest Apple store (Grand Rapids, MI) and they gave me a new one.
  8. No, he became extinct 77 years after coming in contact with our species.
  9. Who told you my secret code was "Bosco"? Coltrane.
  10. I got the money meant for Dan.
  11. No contracts is probably the correct answer. I will see if Walter Allen has anything to say about this.
  12. Just checked and see I paid $14.89 (including shipping) for the 4 disc set. An wonderful deal.
  13. You mean that small set that went OOP so fast? I won't pay those 70$ or so that you'd need to shelve out these days to get hold of it, but it's still a bit of a drag then! Yes, that's the one. Anybody know whether that version of "Ebony Rhapsody" is exclusive to that set? The Ebony Rhapsody material in this box seems to be an "exclusive". I have never encountered it elsewhere.
  14. I have Office for Mac and use it every day.
  15. What Jim said. Afro Bossa is a treasure chest to be explored for years.
  16. Only one of the problems when dealing with downloads.
  17. 1927 - 3 titles 1931 - 8 titles 1932 - 6 titles 1934 - 4 titles 1936 - 15 titles And I know of 11 alternates. There was a US Bluebird vinyl issue similar to the set Brownie mentioned.
  18. I hope they didn't breed. (another negative post from me)
  19. Move on folks. Nothing to see here.
  20. Phil (after the '50s) is a problem for me too. Very skillful but it gives me the heeby jeebies. Sorry.
  21. The depression probably caused more "pap" in the mix, but.....
  22. wiped that from my memory.
  23. You can say that again.
