  1. I say go ahead and bitch. Worst case, you vent.
  2. I got BB as a promo before it was issued. Still ringing in my ears was Miles ridiculing Eric Dolphy and some other stuff - I thought he was a creep. The music in the records made me reconsider Miles for the first time since I was introduced to his music in 1958. It took me a while to get over this and accept he was still a creep.
  3. I've always been amazed Brownie never comments on stolen photos.
  4. We all want longer frogs.
  5. I have my hands on my "junk" right now for protection. Many thanks for the info.
  6. Been there done that. I have spent about 40 years with it. Not one of Miles' best, but a great influence.
  7. These occurred when EMI finally had their own cd plant up and running. Previously, all their cds were manufactured by the Columbia/Sony owned plant and that operation provided warehousing for EMI. When the relationship ended, EMI deleted all the titles and dumped the inventory. Later EMI offered new pressings of these titles on a "one time, no return" basis to stores - these were the "collectors classics" or whatever they were called.
  8. In some cases that might be good news.
  9. 1984 - Billie Holiday "Silver Collection".
  10. Must have been created by the Bear Family.
  11. Hosted the Timex show with lots of jazz.
  12. Hard to beat the Lansing Lug Nuts. Please doctor, don't lance those.
  13. A few sets a week is optimistic.

  15. I find it sad that "arbiters of taste" only vote for free stuff. I would wish they'd buy stuff they thought might be interesting. I gave up on this dream a long time ago.
  16. Maybe the holes are a bit smaller.
  17. All of this it better than true - thank your gods the music produced was beyond interesting.
  18. OJCs were all reissues of music from the past.
  19. More likely the toad.
  20. Have lp and cd. Never thought to compare.
  21. Is there a discography of Disc 4 of #1 band set floating around (aside from the booklet inside the box of course)? I have the Mosaic, so am unlikely to get this for just the live sessions, but I might look at other ways of obtaining the live material. (I didn't see a specific CD release that had the same material, but maybe it is spread over a few CDs.) Thanks! Besides the live disc, America's #1 Band includes 40+ tracks not in the Mosaic set - band tracks after Lester left town, 12 octet tracks and some rhythm section material. You get Byas, Hawk, Lucky, Illinois, Wardell and Rouse in place of Young.
