  1. wiped that from my memory.
  2. You can say that again.
  3. G'bye Harvey. I fondly remember going to the Pig 'n' Whistle (aka Piss 'n' Wiggle) in Bloomington to hear Bill Bell and his brass ensemble play for the drinkers. That's the first thing I thought of when reading the post (Harvey was one of his students). Thanks to all you tuba players for putting bottoms on so much music.
  4. I think it would take about 4 or 5 discs to cover the stuff from their holdings, but that would start before the 1924 start.
  5. Nah, I have a can ready for shipping.
  6. Sorry, I read it as "shit in a can" and passed.
  7. I'm not sure Lasker was pleased, and I don't always agree with his choices.
  8. I get "warmed up" via different channels.
  9. The mid 30s were just fine. I have a bunch of favorites from that era.
  10. But the last sets are best, so you can ignore the other box.
  11. The entire group of teams is "in the pool" and gasping for air. What a lame bunch of teams.
  12. I thought it ended a couple of decades back.
  13. I just think Evans' playing is more compelling in this box, a bit less so in the 2nd box from this gig.
  14. I have them in the Classics series and there was a GRP/Decca single.
  15. The Henderson would most likely be a combination of the Columbia and Victor sides. They would total about 7 discs and now come from the same corporate source.
  16. FWIW, I think these are the best post-Riverside recordings of Mr. Evans. Great price for the set.
  17. Check out the Apple site. They have a tutorial about moving stuff from a PC. It is worth buying Office for Mac to deal with some documents. I went through this a couple of years ago and have no regrets.
  18. Too bad they didn't include 8-tracks.
  19. Too bad you deleted the rest - I thought it was "on the money". "Happy Moods" was my first Jamal too. I was in high school and got it from the Columbia Record Club.
  20. The Columbia Bessie Smith set (not boxed) was the first non classical program I can recall. Complete boxes were relatively common for classical music in the late lp era.
  21. THAT should be your new sig line.
  22. Exactly the right amount. I was going to say all of them.
  23. and it was printed on gold paper stock.
