  1. Wish I could send you back to the '70s.
  2. Ariola was a German label and morphed into BMG.
  3. The Byas material was coupled with Ben Webster/Sid Catlett titles on an early Commodore cd shown HERE.
  4. Be careful with those keys.
  5. G'bye Dale.
  6. Everyone should check him out on the recent Bill Dixon set (Tapestries for Small Orchestra). This is a wonderful set of 2 cds and one dvd. The dvd is worth the price of admission. It is on Firehouse 12.
  7. Hank was recorded at the end of the session. He also recorded a version of Early Morning Stroll. I've heard all the takes, but memory fades. I think he did 2 of each tune.
  8. Seems to be available from the source at about double your request. $13.41 per disc.
  9. I've placed over 100 orders and they do rock.
  10. Going from memory, the SS releases had excessive "show biz gloss" added. Don't have the Mosaic, only a couple of discs reissued on BN and they sound fine.
  11. You should put a link to your blog in your sig.
  12. Every Tuesday night at the New Apartment Lounge, starting at 11. Occasional gigs at Andy's and the Green Mill too.
  13. Never saw it. Is us a US issue?
  14. Warne asked Jake if he wanted a solo an Jake said "I can say it all in 4 or 8 bars".
  15. Amazing! Just considering a reissue. Bob Koester (Delmark) recently said "don't expect any sales".

    Don Byas

How's that again? Sorry - Dexter, Jug and Byas. You know the story Jack. Unfortunately I can't blame the error on Courvoisier, Byas's drink at the time!
  17. He did a great Stan Laurel!
  18. Sorry to hear this. He was a terrific musician and very nice (and funny) guy.
  19. I was hoping you'd post this. I saw it on facebook and laughed my ass off.
