  1. Jack Tracy probably was in charge and Larry's comment is probably on the mark. Jack and I were regularly in contact a while back. I don't think he's in great shape since he's not responded to contacts for a while. And so it goes......
  2. Saw him numerous times and recorded him once. He was a delightful man from my perspective. Edit to add - the Black Lions are my favorites. Too bad all this music isn't easily available.
  3. It did fit on one cd - in the Monk/Prestige package.
  4. Grasping at straws. They spent a bunch of money and have few clues in the changing marketplace. Wait a few months and buy the cut-outs.
  5. What the fuck did they do to Dee Dee ? Looks like something I'd do to her if I saw her. Last time I heard her it was terrible. The idea of her Billie tribute is repulsive to me.
  6. There is/was a 4th disc from this date issued on Jazz Colours. Great stuff.
  7. I recently ordered 10 Black Saints and one of them (without warning) was a cdr.
  8. Two additional tracks were recorded at a different session and issued on a 45. These have been reissued on an anthology according to Jack Lefton's AEC discography site.
  9. My copy of the cd (OJC-326) lists Ballad for Baby as a bonus track. They probably found the track and forgot to tell the art department. Subsequent printings were corrected.
  10. all of your options either accept paranormal stuff or suggest you are nuts/misguided. if you really need help, why a priest? Is this your only option? you might not really believe or you could be putting us on. we are expected to believe your interpretations of things. maybe something else is reality. not dumping on you, just looking for other options.
  11. This will take some time to digest. I may or may not respond later. At this point, I wish you all the best.
  12. I would not worry.
  13. Not sure I would use the words "tremendous" or "Master" for Smith. Why can't one just recommend something and leave it at that?
  14. The second Dameronia is out now with some added material.
  15. Sorry to hear all these folks in other "worlds" are hooked on US shows. They might be fine but I hope for other input.
  16. Jimmy Jones was an important figure in Chicago and beyond. No time to spend on this now, but I didn't want the last post to stand. Anyone have the Classics cd?
  17. Everybody did it for a while.
  18. Interesting how the performances change as the years go on.
