  1. A few sentimental favorites but no single favorite.
  2. It would take 6 cds at the most.
  3. I have/had the following Signature material on lp or cd: Hawk Prez (Wells date) Webster Flip Bothwell Yank Lawson Hodes Shorty Sherock Leo Watson O'Day Manne (Bigard/Heywood) Jaws Julian Dash Garner Hines James P
  4. You can browse by artist - click on the "artist" tab.
  5. But can he play Sweet Georgia Brown?
  6. Needle drops of needle drops?
  7. Reminded by a post in the Sexy Covers thread, I'm now burning this to cd to combine with the original Jazztone material.
  8. I'm pretty good on spoons. It ain't that easy.
  9. Funny you should say that. Once when I saw him he kept coming off the bench and shoving his pelvis at the piano. After numerous thrusts, I turned to Ann and said "he can't hit the keyhole".
  10. Probably an issue based on a recent download.
  11. My mom went there. I don't think Free knew her.
  12. Explain the "vinyl process" you see as a fault.
  13. Me too.
  14. Chuck Nessa

    Ben Webster

That is the original Ensayo track order - 4 tunes per side of the lp. When I issued Did You Call? I reversed the sides (on purpose) and opened with Sweet Georgia Brown. I thought that worked better.
  15. Isn't that one of the Geico cavemen with a shave?
  16. Just finished a glass of milk with our corned beef, cabbage and potato dinner. This was all a warming of last night's dinner.
  17. I would guess Capital put this up. Mosaic gets squat.
  18. I'm watching my wife tile a bathroom counter. She's doing a job I didn't want to do. Uncle Skid will see this the next time he's here.
  19. Who will answer? OK, I will. The Ames Brothers were MOR regulars before the show. Ed (the "handsome one") had a later solo career. His acting followed.
  20. Indie labels can't compete with $10 Miles, etc reissues. No way to make it work. X number of folks will buy cd reissue #6 of a "major artist" before trying something different. Currently artists are recording sessions to be paid in discs to sell on the gig - they rely on the good humor of band members with the implied impression of playing on their next session. All this to sell 400 copies. Even this practice is at an end. I have received offers from very fine "name" artists with nothing asked. Things be fucked.
  21. It's on the bottom of page 15 of the Blakey cds.
