For me the classic Shirley recordings are the SteepleChase discs A Lazy Afternoon and Violets for Your Furs. I had some personal dealings with this wonderful lady and she was Just That!
All the Garland Prestige dates with Byrd and Coltrane (2 - Nov and Dec of '57) were divided up into lp length portions to form All Morning Long, Soul Junction and High Pressure. The "extra" track (Lazy Mae - 16:07) was coupled with a trio selection from Feb 1958 and CTA from Feb 7 of 1958.
If you enjoy the other titles, get it.
AFAIK during the Fantasy era.
It should be noted Prestige occasionally changed colors when reprinting covers. This was before the days of process colors and it was cheaper for them to change a color to match a current new release run on the press at the same time.
I have about 20 - JOS, Thad, Burrell, Sonny Clark, Bennie Green, Fred Jackson, Hubbard, Parlan, Byrd, Silver, 3 Sounds, Joe Hen, Freddie Roach, Eric Gale and Lee Morgan.
Ken Vandermark's recent double with 4 different bass players
Not to mention the Roscoe/Malachi duet on Nonaah.
Forgot Braxton - I have duets with Dave Holland, Mario Pavone and John Lindberg - I know there are more.
