  1. Four. If I'm in a bad mood when I die, I will have it played at my funeral.
  2. He still owes me money from over 25 years ago. Fine artist, less than fine human.
  3. Tom Cat is one of my favorite Lee dates. Either version is dandy.
  4. I'm pulling for SF. U have no idea how much I wish you weren't a fan.
  5. Didn't know it was an attack. Harmonically, Herbie wouldn't exist without Evans. OP had nothing to offer in that area.
  6. I think u b out of yr mind. My reply was to BM, not TTK.
  7. Me too. I was worried in the first half but stuff happened later. Detroit will be a contender eventually but....spend some time.
  8. I'm still thinking of transforming into a hummingbird.
  9. Just finished Muhal Richard Abrams' Afrisong on Why Not.
  10. Oh yes, Chuck pure nostalgia on our part, listening to the music of our youth. Nothing like when you listen to Duke Ellington, nothing like that at all... Yes, nothing like that at all. FWIW, the music of my youth was Little Richard, Elvis, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and Gene Vincent. I still enjoy those memories but have moved on to other things. edit for typo
  11. Ah, nostalgia.
  12. Returning to Forever seems like a terrible option.
  13. I'm with Dan on this one. We are the world. I would have sat thru the white bearded guy too.
  14. Two dukes in different worlds.
  15. I can see the Von news has eclipsed my current releases - the Bowie is now in stock and the Smith should be here sometime Tuesday. Since I pay the postage in North America (and reduce export postage) there is little need to wait for the Vonski if you wish one of the others. Remember I can also supply Okka Disk and much of the Uptown catalog.
  16. I used to distribute these. No time to research/refresh my memory now but they also reissued some PJ Gerald Wilson and maybe more. The pressings were fine at the time.
  17. Even more things you don't understand.
  18. Try the phone book.
  19. Bought it when it came out, shitcanned it not long after. A trumpet playing buddy of mine (and big Freddie fan) keeps touting this one to me, but I think I can live without it. Ha! I love that album, weird as it may be. And that picasso painting is a badass cover. It is interesting, but not really a Hubbard album, nomatter the name on the top.
  20. Over the years I've bought about a dozen of his releases, seen him "live" once and respect him as a musician. Having said that, I never really connected with his music.
  21. FedEx delivered 2100 cds today. Next Tuesday they will deliver around 1000 more. About 2 weeks later another 1000. Oh yeah, I just received a copy of the Coltrane Interplay box from Newbury for $17 delivered. Still waiting for the "steal" from Best Buy. When that arrives, I will have received all 3 Coltrane/Prestige boxes for about $50. How the hell can the "indies" survive?
  22. I'm with you there but I only know the EMI recordings from the lp box. The Schmidt set is dandy - I had it in the original Unicorn lp box and have had the Regis set for a few years.
  23. Wish I was in the area.
