  1. So it's great music because it's not jazz. Nice. You so smart.
  2. wearing the same hat.
  3. He won't remember why he called. Order a pizza when he asks what you want.
  4. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.
  5. I had some tater salad and that's all.
  6. Had a Dyson ball once and I'm still exhausted.
  7. I've had it on lp and cd and think the editing improved the "listening experience". I thought the lps were the best of his Columbia material but the cds, while dandy, altered that experience.
  8. I must have had about 50 of these back in the '80s. Beautiful printing on the covers too.
  9. Will is to song as Loren is to swing so I quit.
  10. Nah, I always think and type good.
  11. I also love the crowd/bar noise on the Miles Blackhawk set. Especially that bar blender! Maybe I should record a couple of hours of bar noise. I can do that right here in Whitehall and probably get releases from all the drunks involved. Shouldn't be too difficult to overlay this stuff on my master tapes. The digital world is nifty.
  12. And as the page count diminishes they began running full page ads disguised as news. We are about to pull the plug. I feel sorry for our paper girl.
  13. When was that recorded? How well does Don Preston fit in? I have a CD of a Don Preston acoustic piano trio date, which is not an unqualified triumph, to my ears. I wonder if this Bradford-Carter album is something like that. Recorded in '88. Just received a self produced disc from Bradford - Mo'tet Live at the LA County Museum of Art from 2002. Preston is on it too. Have not listened to them yet.
  14. As Jim said once about Mr Rollins, it's Curtis friggin' Fuller.
  15. I find the dates informative. I like to know when they were shot. YMMV.
  16. Ummm. . . this was a Duke Ellington, not an Atlantic, production. It was NOT RECORDED at Atlantic Studios. Ellington had it recorded at National Recording Studios, New York, New York on April 27, 1970 and May 13, 1970 I would guess the problem was the Atlantic "remix"/mastering.
  17. FWIW, I find cheap Sony dvd units produce more detailed cd sound than regular priced cd decks. I have two.
  18. That's not "old school", that's "pre-school"... You damn kids will mess up the world.
  19. Did he pay for it? Nope. This was supposed to be a gift from the "music industry".
