  15. Gumbo, the lp, was a Poindexter date with Booker as sideman. This cd adds a couple unissued tracks from an earlier session by Pony and 4 (?) tracks from an aborted Larry Young date with Booker. Fairly incoherent program of interesting music.

  21. I was a fan of the early Prestige and Impulse recordings. Later he seemed to find some sort of "Oliver Nelson cut and paste book". The Verve date called Full Nelson was my first alert to this. Quincy had earlier followed a similar path to greater financial rewards.
