  1. I don't trust 'em. Their eyes are too far apart.
  2. All my information would be 25 years old. Sorry.
  3. street team
  4. I stand by my post. What you do is your business.
  5. I was a member of both the classical and jazz clubs for a number of years. I understood the deal with "shipping and handling" and will live with it. It was a good deal for consumers, nomatter how the money was split. Did not file. I did jump to Yourmusic when I had the opportunity.
  6. You should seek out later Mal - after his breakdown and recovery. The later stuff is wonderful.
  7. Mister Grant's son is trying to sell a bunch of his broadcasts. I have been sent some for consideration. What is the source of this material? edit to add question mark.
  8. Berigan, do you know if this guy is Muslim?
  9. English Columbia - another company than the us version. It would be owned by EMI.
  10. I'd never claim otherwise! I disagree. You have claimed otherwise and I believe it causes damage. Sorry.
  11. First time I looked there were no images (just a red x in a box) but two pitches for a download service.
  12. Not much for those not subscribing to your "everything is good if you stand in the right place" idea. We all have some weakness for crap and need to admit it.
  13. Your "one time announcement" showed up twice in your post. Is that a reflection of your veracity?
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Ordered a replacement battery for Ann's Dell laptop this morning.
  16. Well, they stopped for me when I registered. Not on the "business" line though.
  17. Have you registered at the "do not call" site?
  18. A "one stop" is between a distributor and a retail store if the store doesn't do enough business to "earn" an account with a distributor/label. Most indie stores buy from one stops. A rack jobber is a one stop with connections to put "product" in non music stores such as drug stores, dept stores, etc. All worthy enterprises in the day.
  19. I have the JRVG and think it sounds fine if you trim a bit of brightness off Lou's horn - those of us old enough to live through the vinyl years understand tone controls and equalizers. Don't have the master tapes to compare but it sounds very good to me.
  20. When I was at the U of Iowa in the early '60s the creative writing classes were all a'twitter awaiting the latest professor, Mr Nelson Algren. The writing classes were held in old metal army barracks and it was tough to get in for one of the 40 seats the first day. We were all greeted with a message on the blackboard reading something like "Not here - Got a chance to fulfill a lifetime dream and play a gangster in a movie - be back in a few days". That movie was Mickey One.
  21. Back in my retail days, Record Theatre was owned by a "one-stop/rack jobber" in Albany. They supplied all the inventory at their whim back in the '70s. Can't imagine it is much different now.
