  1. The true test is when you have 13 of an artist's recordings and miss that one stinker. You know it's a piece of shit, but you need it to "be complete". One is available on eBay and the bidding is at $106.53 and you are about to pull the trigger. No Duke Pearson record is worth more than $15.
  2. Why the heck are you doing that when you could be over at conn's house using his computer? and listening to all of our Concord purchases.

  5. sorry for my earlier response, the short answer to your question is yes, but that was true of previous incarnations of this material. That probably means they didn't go back to the original sources.

  7. Been there, done that. If you want to get the "almost free" cds + shipping and then stiff them, go ahead. Otherwise, never mind.

  9. Website: http://www.alexanderstreet.com/ They claim to be a supplier of streaming files (amongst other files) to libraries, primarily universities. They seem to have been operating in England for a while and are moving into the US market. They seem to have contracts with Sony, BMI, the Smithsonian, Rounder and a number of smaller labels. They have been "courting" nessa records for a couple of months. I'm curious if anyone knows of them or has experience. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  20. I'm sure the "Grand Opening" will coincide with the Chicago Jazz Festival. Smart.
  21. I think the Getz/Peterson session is wonderful (and I'm no Peterson fan). One of my favorite Getz dates. The Hawk/Roy/Rabbit session is very good but not as good as the Hawk material from the earlier evening - but the cd does include bonus tracks with Hawk and rhythm from that gig.
