  1. REAL artists live without restraints.
  2. Most "really strung out junkies" I've met are looking for money. This certainly does not preclude building the customer base. Time for everybody to take heads out of the sand concerning artists admired for their work.
  3. Don't matter to them but it do to their estates.
  4. That's what I was thinking but was too lame to post.
  5. You might try The Bear Comes Home by my old friend Rafi Zabor.
  6. If you do track them down, please post them here.
  7. Eugene McCarthy.
  8. Thanks for the clarification. I was worried for a minute.
  9. Really, really, really hard for me to answer that one. Did Tab listen? How 'bout Rock and Troy and....
  10. Before I get too excited, which one is Ferranti? What happened to the piano? Is it ok? Anyone remember the outcome of the tiger story? You must know that one about the 2 krauts. Las Vegas is a very important community. How many dead tonight, how many just "mauled"
  11. I read on AAJ some months ago that Valerie is the widow of Walter Bishop, Jr. it's not true that i'm walter's widow although i was married to him in the '60s and '70s. he does, however, have a lovely widow who lives in ny. I don't think you are Mr B's widow either.
  12. Fosters.
  13. Richard and Gene in the same day! DAMN! Topsy Turvy world today. Really hard to keep this out of the "political" territory. Sorry, we all live in a world where "what we do" and "what we appreciate" might influence life or death for some folks. Let me say I hate all this crap. Maybe you "hadda" be there. Anybody tried to kill you 'cause of "what you thought"? Been there, done that.
  14. Got any CASH you'd like to share? Anyone pointed out the PM function yet?
  15. At one point Capitol had a stake in the company and supplied a bunch of masters. This opens a whole bunch of worm cans and takes me back to my Wisconsin days. One state over you have MN and they had Heilicher Bros (forgive spelling) and they were major powers in the music biz before the '90's, I think Detroit's Handlemen (sp warning again) was another. The only remnants of marketing giants like these and a few others are pale shadows but they shaped the music world we all live in. I wish someone would finance a study of the record biz from the end of WWII and the arrival of the digital curse. I'd be a witness asap. I'd learn more than I contribute but want to know a bunch of stuff.
  16. Are we sure about that? That's just what I was thinking. Welcome to the board (and to seattle) Troy. Just a little joke. Certainly no harm meant (unlike a couple of my other posts). As they say, any friend of Peter's...................................................................
  17. Ray Charles looks like George Shearing and Joe Saye.
  18. You can sample some of his stuff HERE.
  19. Always room for one more. Welcome. Any friend of Peter's is a friend of Peter's.
  20. I had a number of Dorham recordings since the '50s but never really got into him until Lester Bowie pressed me to really listen.
  21. In this one you can see my shoveling.
  22. Here's what it looks like in Whitehall this morning.
