  1. He is also on a bunch of Elliot Lawrence records from the '50s.
  2. Cheesecloth.
  3. Hey Alex, I have 5000+ cds, 2000+ lps, untold tapes and a couple of friends. How many copies can I pass on before I infringe on something?
  4. Yeah, it's 'cause I'm an "old guy". Home taping means you can make your own copies for your own use - like a cassette to play in your car. Time to grow up.
  5. Boy do I feel better now.
  6. He could have disturbed the download stream by using other computer resources during process - no?
  7. This thread still depresses me.
  8. I have two (2) problems here. You tried to copy (for free) a friend's discs and failing THAT you went to Walmart! Stand up and be an honorable human. Not sure I would want my kids in your room.
  9. The Norvo sides were on Comet, reissued by Dial.
  10. None of those sessions were originally Dial or Savoy masters.
  11. Happy birthday my friend.
  12. All the best Greg. Wish you'd come around oftener.
  13. No memories of Wadada's "Nuru Light: The Prince of Peace". Only three minutes and eleven seconds.
  14. So, who do I give my money to now?
  15. So............I guess this is the wrong place to say Cannon gives me the heebie jeebies and I only enjoy him in very small doses and in contexts where I can't avoid the irritation.
  16. I suggest the recent Select price increases and "expense reductions" suggest more "common" titles in the future. Sales do keep these guys alive, not "plaudits". The Mulligan Mercurys might fly.
  17. Bessie May Mucho my man!
  18. Have you tried whacking it with a screwdriver handle? Not kidding - my old computer needed an occasional "hit" to get it going.
  19. Boy, am I relieved that link has been filled.
  20. \ 'Cause she lost the case.
  21. MOOSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See what you started.
  22. Wrong Cliffie. Test pressings were done on the regular vinyl used for production. The original reason was to send copies to the label and/or producer to compare the quality of the metalwork and see if this was a good representation of the approved mastering. Historically 3 or 4 copies were supplied but as the years progressed more were pressed to provide advance copies to the most important media folks. Devoting a single press to "lesser quality" vinyl for tests would be economically silly for the plant.
