I like/love most of the painters mentioned. Lots of (hip) reasons to dislike Dali, but he had amazing technique and he could have used it in destructive ways - he didn't. That counts for a bunch in my book since so many 20th century "artists" did tons of damage with much less.

Fond memories of Ms Stevens from Met broadcasts (commercial am radio in the '50s) and tv variety shows. Amazing how all the tech gains of the last 50+ years have lowered the bar.

FWIW, The Hawk In Hi-Fi has a string section in the band for 8 of the original 12 tunes.

Met Mr. Pomus around 1980 when he showed up at Delmark's office while I was there. Wheelchair bound with an "handler" he was a really interesting character. It was a beautiful afternoon and I am grateful for the opportunity.

My personal car in a 1992 Nissan SE-R. Cheapo sports coupe. I love it - 200,000 miles, failing electrical system, suspension, exhaust system, etc. This is the best car I ever had! I can only drive it locally 'cause the battery will die and 5th gear is gone. If I was challenged by a guy with a 'vette (or something like that) I'd put my car and skills up anytime.
