don't want to get everyone mad, as usual, Stowell is a great player BUT - like almost all "jazz" guitarists I hear he seems afraid of the sound of an ELECTRIC guitar - the way he plays it it's just an acoustic amplified - most of you jazz guys are just too afraid - it's either parlor-time or bad solid-state synth - DO NOT BE AFRAID -

Beatles had a good sense of form - wrote a lot of bridges for rock and roll tunes - even a blues with a bridge (You Can't Do That) - though I still think Lennon, pre-Yoko, was the greater of the two writers - George, however, was a mediocrity (according to Geoffrey Emeric, most of those great guitar parts were played by Paul) -

I know how you feel - the book may feel like work - it's kinda like the line from some comedian who didn't feel like reading a particular novel: "sex and violence? Why would I want to read about that? I get enough of that at home."

there was an old Decca fake-stereo LP version of this with Dan's notes; great music, horrible sound - the best thing to do if you want these recordings is to find the ones Steve Leasker did for GNP (may be out of print), or some Euro issues on CD or LP (there was a Swedish label that did an OK job on the Deccas, at least at first) - Classics has done a half-decent job on them also -
