That sounds like a great show, all 3 at their peak.
And you live in Brooklyn and attended IU with two friends of mine (I mentioned this to you some years ago at Smoke--I can't remember who you were playing with--maybe George Coleman?).
Don't remember who the two mutual friends at IU were but I played at Smoke with George Coleman in 2000. Louis Hayes on drums.
The kind of beats - rock rhythm (for lack of a better term, what have you) that are the fundamental rhythmic core of many of these compositions, such as Condition Red, Remote Control, as well as Forbidden Plan-It! IMHO would sound absolutely ridiculous with acoustic piano and bass and no synths. However Mahogany Bird is acoustic, for the most part. Flagships would not have its film-score like grandeur without the sound palette used.
So.... just suck it up and go with it. I will admit that the monster sounds on Remote Control are pretty cheesy. But Wayne digs his Sci-Fi so let the man have his fun.

This is an incredible find. I haven't seen the Kai Winding with KD/JMac mentioned anywhere else! Amazing.
This wasn't recorded but I wish it was: I remember hearing Moody in Chicago around 1979. He gave Wilbur Campbell a solo on Body and Soul, which he played on mallets. At least a whole chorus.
