Why waste column space to review a tourist trap like that? I would think there would be at least one new serious restaurant more worthy. But I guess some things just need to be said!
Thought twice about posting some personal photos, but since you asked...
There's a grand piano just to the left out of view.
Pinned to the wall is Prez's 1949 Ebony article, "How to Make a Pork Pie Hat."

I've seen Frank Wess, Etta Jones (all the time), Stan Getz, and others. But unless he appeared on a Friday or Saturday before (which I rarely try), this is the first time I've seen Thad.
More commonly referred to as a "sendoff." The word "bridge" implies something else entirely. Yes, it was rehearsed.
Sometimes a sendoff can be a little ensemble figure that is within the form of the tune or, as in this case, in between choruses.
I was at the game yesterday. The fans went nuts. Great come-from -behind win. Too bad Dickey was pulled one strike away from reaching his all-time high strike-outs in a game (14), but he threw a lot of pitches.
1. The tenor player has a sound like Ralph Moore, but he's not playing like I remember Ralph playing.
2. Bill Holman's arrangement of Just Friends. It's in the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra's book, but I don't think that's them playing it. I can't say I'm fond of this arrangement.
4. Tenor player reminds me of Barney Wilen's phrasing a little but I'm sure it's not him - too much vibrato. A lot of Lucky Thompson in there. I wonder if it's a European guy.
12. Eric Alexander and Grant Stewart playing Omicron.
