  1. JEEEEEEZ! Who knew Greg had that much JUICE??? Oh yeah, except in Philly, of course.
  2. Thinking of moving, Chris?
  3. If you're asking about "Blues in Orbit," I did get it, and also like it a lot. My copy of "Piano in the Foreground" isn't scheduled to ship until later this month.
  4. At yourmusic.com, you can get the 20-bit K2 reissue (albeit perhaps without the paper sleeve) for the usual $5.99 with free shipping, here.
  5. Great gift! Can I have my wife call your wife before my next birthday?
  6. The VOA recording of Ellington at '56 Newport? Goodman at Carnegie Hall (OK, so that was "discovered" in 1950)?
  7. Instead of the booklet, he should spend his 17 bucks on this: Supposed to be a very effective treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
  8. You guys better paint over that name before you hit the road:
  9. Parlan and Turrentine are both on my "Running Low" watch list.
  10. I saw him in Philly earlier this year. Sounds like he played pretty much the same tunes, and probably told the same stories! He was terrific, and I hope he comes back again soon.
  11. Happy Birthday, Brad! Hope it's a great one, and that you actually get some time off to celebrate!
  12. Yeah, there you go! How about tying Seattle in with that DC-Philly trip?
  13. Well, if nothing else, at least some day we in Philly willl be able to hear a RECORDING of a live Organissimo gig.
  14. That's right--you were supposed to remind me about it when the time came.
  15. Rachel, just for you: Do I sense a Philly connection here?
  16. Just play "Misty" for him! ← Now you're talkin.
  17. New York isn't that far away... ← But it's a school night.
  18. Does that mean you WILL come play a gig in Philly?
  19. And speaking of entire books I'd like to see posted here, Mike, . . . .
  20. Nice review. Congratulations! And thanks for posting it. Now, how about posting your entire book?
  21. I got Benny Golson to sign my Jazztet Mosaic booklet when he played in Philly earlier this year. He commented to me what a great job he thought they'd done with it. Now if I could only get that Albertson guy to sign my Basie Clef/Verve Mosaic booklet. On second thought, I'll just wait and have him sign the booklet from my Riverside New Orleans Living Legends box set when Concord/Fantasy finally issues it.
