  1. Just read it Ron! Many thanks for the info!!! g ← Do you still have the other suggestions of Philly jazz clubs I had sent to Jim?
  2. Greg, Just sent you a PM re Philly gigs.
  3. PHIL-LY! PHIL-LY! PHIL-LY!
  4. That must give you infinite storage capacity.
  5. Is this set new for you? And if so, what do you think?
  6. I've got even better than that--an autographed picture of the machine:
  7. I'd love to have this one! So would I--but you know, most of it is now available on Blue Note CD's still in print.
  8. Not even part of that Basie Clef/Verve set you and I are supposed to be sharing?
  9. I assumed the negatives were the number of CD's that you wouldn't own even if someone paid you to own them. Which is why I was surprised the possible responses only went up (or down) to 5.
  10. 24, not including coleader sessions with, e.g., Pops and Ella.
  11. Now known as Sony/BMG.
  12. The Complete Buddy Bolden Cylinders. Actually, I got into Mosaic relatively recently, and dipped my toes in the shallow end with the Paul Chambers Select. From there it escalated to an order for Mulligan CJB and Byrd/Adams, the 2 cheapest boxes. And from there, well, now it's hopeless (so far 12 boxes and 6 Selects).
  13. You been watchin' too mucha this:
  14. Gee, Chuck--I guess Lois Gilbert didn't realize that "your primary board is Organissimo" when she edited a post to claim you for JC.
  15. Is this big enough?
  16. Yeah! We can dis each other for free.
  17. Man, now I gotta get it out now! It's damn hard to go thru new stuff when the old ones keep callin' ya back! ← At the moment, I'm diggin' all these quartet tracks with Tommy Flanagan, Paul Chambers, and Max Roach. Who knew?
  18. I'm listening to it right now--ordered it when it first went into "Running Low". It's terrific.
  19. You can get them at yourmusic.com for $5.99 each, with free shipping.
  20. Sounds like it's time for Jim to sit down and compose "Eb Jawbone Blues" for the next CD.
  21. Yeah, it's not very often you get a decent jazz group out of Texas.
  22. Still, the worst box Sony has ever done has got to be the Charlie Christian box with the foam rubber crud all over the CD's from the very first time you take them out of the box. Fortunately, Sony is the only major label (as far as I know) that provides a toll-free customer service number in every CD, and a quick phone call got me 4 brand-new replacement CD's. But still, how could they possibly let that design out the door, and apparently still continue to do so with all the complaints there have been.
  23. Just for that . . . YOU'RE FIRED.
  24. . . . it can become scatological?
