  1. Of course, any similarity between that cover and this one is purely coincidental:
  2. Uhhhhhhhhhh . . . . . . . . . . yeah. But only on video. And also in person.
  3. I saw this thread and almost went for it, then checked and realized I already bought it. You must play it a lot.
  4. Isn't that a scene from "Mouse-ian Impossible"?
  5. A bunch of us organissimites took advantage of a similar Newbury deal on this set a year ago--only then it was FIFTY bucks, and we thought THAT was a terrific bargain!
  6. If this is your first traversal through these, you're in for a major treat!
  7. Sounds like a sewing forum.
  8. I said a boycott, not a bloodbath.
  9. Speaking of which, they currently have a terrific deal on the 5-disc Schnabel/Schubert box (with 2005 transfers/restoration by Mark Obert-Thorn)--only $19.95. Brand spankin' new and sealed, and NOT a cut-out. The only "issue" is that the catalog number on the spine is incorrect (1173 instead of 1175; it's correct on the back of the box)--like anyone would even notice if BRO didn't point it out. Ordered this one. Thanks for a tip on a great bargain, Ron. My pleasure. I'd had this in my sights for quite some time, and was thrilled to find such a terrific deal.
  10. Edward, that's what I did. We'll see if they get back to me. I'd call them: 317-692-9200 And ask to speak to a supervisor. Ron, been there done that, twice already. They refused to pass me on to a supervisor. The first time I was angry about it. The first time she promised me that they would contact me by mail. The second time he promised me that they would call me within 36 hours. (They didn't.) You will note that my access to the website was cancelled Dec. 22, but it was not until Jan. 21 that they informed me of what was up. Pretty poor organization all the way around, it seems to me. Maybe it's time to organize a boycott.

  12. We paid in fruit pies. MAN, was that expensive.
  13. The original post is from 2006. Good luck! Stumbling into a time warp--I just HATE it when that happens. Almost as much as phasing into a parallel dimension (in which Allen Lowe actually makes sense ).

  15. Got a UPS shipping notice this afternoon. Maybe the two guys and girl at the pizza place monitor this board.
  16. That's what hooked me.
  17. I hope their pizza deliveries are quicker.
  18. My order was classical issues from "legit" labels (Hyperion/Helios, Harmonia Mundi, Music & Arts, etc.). Plenty of those left--at least I hope there are by the time they get around to filling my order. Reminds me of the Concord Summer Blowout a few years ago--orders took forever to ship, but the prices made it well worth the wait.
  19. Sometimes. Given the prices, I guess it's worth the wait. Do they send shipping notices?
  20. I placed my first order with Berkshire on 12/31/08, and haven't heard squat since (and my credit card hasn't been charged). The web site states that a full four weeks should be waited before contacted them about an order, but is this par for the course--i.e., do orders usually take this long to ship?
  21. Let me know when they offer a Mosaic Select.
  22. I bet the reason the cover is larger is because you sent Downbeat a little payola after successfully lobbying the band for the album name. Excuse me--it's called a promotional expense.
  23. I think you're right, and I also think that Greg's right that it was probably crappy editing for space.
  24. I have to imagine that sometimes reviews get edited for space. I don't have the magazine handy, but imagine there are a lot of reviews about that length. Could be standard for many releases? Anyhow, any press is good press eh? g I DO have it handy, and Greg is correct. In fact, the review of Michael Feinstein's "The Sinatra Project" (from Concord, incidentally, so label size isn't determinant) right next to the "Groovadelphia" review is actually one line shorter than our boys' review (although, the "Groovadelphia" cover depiction is a bit larger and takes up more space ).
