  1. I just logged on and I'm still getting $5.99. I'm pretty much a one cd per monther. When did you guys join?? I joined about 2 years ago when it was still $4.99. I've ordered a ton of stuff--well, maybe a half-ton--from yourmusic, but that didn't seem to help. OTOH, maybe the current 5.99'ers ordered a lot more than I did. I think we determined when the price first went up to $6.99 that several people who joined at $4.99 got bumped up to $6.99, so that alone can't be it. Maybe it's a combination of having joined at $4.99 AND havning purchased a ton of stuff. Or maybe it's just the people who own a lot of Sony/BMG stock.
  2. Mine are still $6.99. So are mine. It'd be interesting to find out why some people are still getting the $5.99 price.
  3. And it's not just going to be "contemporary jazz". OK, here goes my third and final attempt: Cuscuna says in the press release that "we are in a position to give great jazz and adult music the treatment it deserves." Doesn't anyone else wonder WTF he means by "adult music"?
  4. Billie Holiday, "The Complete Verve Studio Master Takes" (Verve), discs 1-3
  5. I'm still hung up on Cuscuna's reference to "adult music" in addition to jazz. Isn't that kinda like radio-station-format talk, as in AAA (Adult Album Alternative)? Seems as if Mosaic is softening (blurring?) its focus a bit.
  6. We'll have to do that the next time they're there. Just imagine the great cover for the CD: "organissimo--Live at the Art Museum"
  7. FWIW, this session is currently available on this Gambit CD: The liners identify the session as recorded at P.J.'s in Los Angeles in Summer 1965, and also acknowledge that it was originally released on Emerald (the Amazon description also identifies the original title as "On Fire"). In addition to the 7 PJ's tracks, the CD also includes a track recorded in Denmark in 1969 ("Medley: Manha De Carnaval/Samba de Orfeu"), 3 tracks recorded for Swedish television in 1973 ("Blues", "Basie's Blues", and "The Shadow of Your Smile"), and a 1969 track recorded at Ronnie Scott's that also features Kenny Burrell and Grant Green ("Blue Mist").
  8. Andrew Hill Select, disc 1
  9. You mean as contrasted with Ludacris and ZZ Top?
  10. It's arrived. By the way, I caught your review on the Blue Note site.
  11. Peer pressure hereby applied. Put on your Nikes and JUST DO IT.
  12. Let's see how much sleep I get tonight and how I feel on Friday. I'd really like to go. It'd be great to finally meet you (and see if you really exist ).
  13. Up for any stragglers--we know you're out there! So who else is gonna be there?
  14. You have to take some of those ratings with a grain or two of salt, but at least they're better than nothing. Be sure to read the individual consumer reviews, also, to get a flavor of the feedback. I've also always had great experience with Amazon's customer service (not only the US Amazon but also UK and France).
  15. Man, you'll do anything to stay ahead of me in the post count. That's the goal....I could care less about actual content. EDIT: Don't you mean you couldn't care less?
  16. I'd do a Froogle search. My favorite online shopping site is pricegrabber.com. Once you find the product you're looking for, you can enter your zip code and list the various prices in ascending order of total shipped price. Also, you can see how each merchant is rated/reviewed by consumers--VERY important. EDIT: Here's the black, and here's the white.
  17. Man, you'll do anything to stay ahead of me in the post count.
  18. As long as I don't have to hug that guy with the beret and the funky beard. EDIT: OK, maybe I'll think about it (let's see who gets this one).
  19. He means "Last Chance." You know, I think that eye roll thing is pretty rude and unneccesary. I obviously made a small, easy to parse out error in the course of taking a couple minutes out of an extremely busy day at work to post what I thought might be valuable information to a couple people around here. right back at you. I'll see your and raise you one . Sorry, didn't mean to be rude--just trying to make a correction with a smile. I guess I picked the wrong one. I just wanted to make sure that people who still want this set are aware that it has moved from "running low" to "last chance" so they don't miss the chance to get it.
  20. Wait, are you licensed to use the word "schleppin'"? And why aren't you on the road yet?
