  1. And into the queue it goes. Thanks, guys!
  2. I was going to post it, but by the time I had finished typing the post, "just then" had moved ahead to a different point in time.
  3. It still seems to me that the Universal-distributed Farlow Moasic is unique among these sets in its widespread availablity in the US through large, "legitimate" retailers at a low price over a long period of time. I've suspected for a while that there's a story behind that, but so far haven't seen it.
  4. No, Chris. DAVID HASSELHOFF is the David Hasselhoff of Belgium.
  5. I received my sets today, two days after ordering them...damn, that's fast. One concern I have is that several of the discs have a couple of tiny blacks spots on them (lable side)...not sure if it's ink or what but I can't rub them off.....any thoughts???? Also, my Pacific Jazz Piano Trio is set #4449 (of 5000), could it really be this close to being gone??? The Brookmeyer is #3836 and the Tolliver is #482. m~ Unlike the big boxes, the Selects are not sold in sequential order, so the number of a particular set sold does not indicate anything about prior sales. Regarding the black spots, if they don't affect play, they probably occurred during label printing and aren't anything to worry about. However, if they bother you, just send an email to Cindy at Mosaic (csr@mosaicrecords.com) and explain the situation, and she'll have replacement discs sent to you "no-questions-asked" (and without your having to return the affected discs).
  6. Of COURSE not! I'd NEVER place all the risk with just one carrier! I actually have them insured with Traveler's, The Hartford, State Farm, and 17 other insurance companies.
  7. It's threads like this that really screw up my CD budget. Now I've put the 2 Yoshi's discs in my ever-expanding cart at AllDirect.com.
  8. Nope. I'm on a restricted Mosaic (and other CD) diet right now--only running-lows, and Selects 1-20 I want and don't yet have before the 7/1/06 price increase.
  9. I have all mine insured by Lloyd's of London--it's cheaper, and less time-consuming.
  10. Justin, relax! We all respect and appreciate the industriousness and initiative you display in promoting your own CD.
  11. As have Joe Tarantino and Phil De Lancie (and perhaps others I'm forgetting). By the way, Joe Tarantino is credited with the remastering, albeit 20-bit K2, on the new Bill Evans Complete Village Vanguard box. I'm listening to it right now and, although I haven't done an A-B comparison to the earlier 20-bit K2's of "Sunday" and "Waltz" by the JVC folks, the new box set sounds better to me than how I remember the earlier 20-bit K2's sounding the last time I listened to them--more presence and detail, and less tape hiss. I read somewhere that this set--and presumably its earlier Japanese and European releases--was mastered from the original session tapes, and that the previous K2s were mastered from the master tapes prepared for the original albums. I've spoken to Tarantino a few times in the past, and I think I'll try to find out from him what the real story is here.
  12. To my ears, some of the late-'80's/early-90's OJC/Contemporary CD's have some of the best sound I've ever heard, e.g., the Shelly Manne Black Hawk discs. And apparently the folks at Fantasy would agree, since many of these have never received the K2 treatment (at least for US distribution).
  13. GREAT ones to be eyeing (even better to be buying).
  14. You mean, of course, the original early digital recording, and not merely some transfer from analog.
  15. That's the one. Sorry, Brad--next time I'll pay attention better. -_-
  16. The Coltrane/Monk finally showed up???? CRAP!! I just got this yesterday for Christmas. Oh well... I know--I got tired of waiting for this to show up and ordered it somewhere else a month or so ago--for more than twice as much.
  17. Also showing up today: Bill Charlap & Sandy Stewart, "Love Is Here To Stay"
  18. Isn't that because you preordered the entire run of both sets?
  19. Wow, who knew??? Let's just be sure not to leave Allen Lowe and Suzy Creamcheese/Johnny E alone together in there.
  20. Don't blame me--I'm just the messenger. I'm not blaming you at all, I was referring to the Mosaic page. I knew you weren't blaming me Hans--at least not for THAT! Just kidding around.
  21. Second that. Third that. But be forewarned, lots of heavy breathing. Then again, if you listen to some Keith Jarrett first, you won't even notice it. But it's French heavy breathing... Actually, it's three quarters Austrian.
  22. As long as we're talking about Beethoven chamber music, do not overlook this: I love, love, love this set. Perhaps not as dense and heavy as some of Beethoven's later string quartets, but marvelous music, very well recorded.
  23. Second that. Third that. But be forewarned, lots of heavy breathing. Then again, if you listen to some Keith Jarrett first, you won't even notice it.
  24. Don't blame me--I'm just the messenger.
  25. That Rick Perry's a real Scrooge--you guys should be getting out early!
