  2. Rest In Peace you big dummy.
  3. Yeah, I mentioned this a few weeks ago. "Nessa" only shows up two times. I think both times as a simple reference to the label. Still like it as much as I said last time here.
  4. Tough few seconds at the end of that clip...
  5. From the db interview I posted Wednesday: Do you take the credit for creating the four-mallet technique? What I take credit for is popularizing it. There were plenty of examples of players using four mallets before I came along. In fact, there are some recordings from the 1930s with Red Norvo playing the xylophone that are pretty impressive. So, I got the credit because I got popular with it. Then, somebody started to call my way of holding the mallets the “Burton grip,” and it has stuck. And I wasn’t even the first one to use that way of holding the mallets.

  7. Don't have a Blu-ray player either, but may be interested in the CDs. Is there a place that tells what the total time is on the Blu-ray disc?
  8. Nils Økland. You may have liked the Swedish nyckelharpa player too: Emilia Amper.
  9. That Rosenquist F-111 has been somehow a comforting or maybe reliable fixture for me at our local mall since my days in high school. I don't go to the mall very often, but I've often stopped, over the decades, and looked at this work when there. Full life!
  10. Nice to hear her at Big Ears, but would've liked to hear more of her there.
  11. Q&A with Gary Burton: A Fond Farewell
  12. More great music awaiting me at my doorstep after a great week of festival music.
