Strange... On the sound samples page it says that Ted Kendall did the mastering, while Malcolm Addey is credited near the bottom of the discography page; no mention of Kendall there I really hope it's Addey; to my ears Kendall is a bit too generous with noise reduction.

The Mosaic set has these quartet albums: First Place Again - Warner Bros. Take Ten - RCA Bossa Antigua - RCA Glad to Be Unhappy - RCA Easy Living - RCA plus a track that appeared on the Playboy anthology Playboy Jazz Allstars, Vol.3. The Mosaic erroneously omitted an RCA track. The RCA set has these albums: Desmond Blue (with strings) Take Ten Bossa Antigua Glad to Be Unhappy Easy Living Both sets are OOP.

Which one? There were two, and both were reissued on Original Jazz Classics: The Sound of the Wide Open Spaces - Original Jazz Classics 257 (with David "Fathead" Newman) and A Double Dose of Soul - Original Jazz Classics 1790

Of course it isn't, and that's not what I was trying to do. Besides, opinions vary as to which Impulse! CD versions sound best. Many prefer the U.S. digipack CD reissues from the mid/late 1990s, others the Japanese K2s from the 1990s or the more recent Japanese 24-bit remasters.

I'm still looking for some of the 1987 German Impulse! CDs.
