You're right, I don't want them There's talk that old perm-head might be replacing Gergiev at the LSO. Not sure that's something I could easily get used to... I don't care for either of them. I have many of the Sviatoslav Richter "Authorised Recordings" sets that Philips put out years ago. Assuming the new Decca box contains this stuff, it's highly recommended - but I know that some find his playing hard to stomach; I'm not one of them The Clifford Curzon box is wonderful, even though it contains a few questionable orchestral performances. Hard for me to wrap around my mind about that ... his playing is very touching and direct to me. Straight to the heart of it (and of me, too). But vive la différence and all that ... The main reason is that I really dislike his saxophone tone, but I'm not too fond of his playing on other instruments either.

Concerto consists of four or five interconnected buildings. Second hand is at the far left. I agree about the omnipresence of EU PD releases. It's one of the reasons I no longer go to Amsterdam specifically to browse their bins. It's also the reason I hardly ever support them anymore by placing online orders. They can go out of business for all I care, really. This means you're basically not going to find any Dutch jazz CD store agreeable, except for the Jazz Center in The Hague. ...and they are expensive - at least they were when I last ordered from them years ago, before board member Bluerein took over from its former owner.
