  1. I forwarded them all to spoof@ebay.com, without opening the links.
  2. I keep getting spoof eBay e-mails, about three or four a week. Already got two today...
  3. Happy birthday!
  4. Bev, Check out this post by B3-er
  5. ...And here's the AMG review
  6. Quite.
  7. I still listen to them B)
  8. Bluenoter, I couldn't agree with you more. Such things as the "Babe Thread" were an embarrassment to me at the old Blue Note board, and it remains as much here. I see no useful purpose to the thread, and it's not like you can't find naked or partially clothed women on the internet if that's what you want. You'd think by now people would understand the meaning of the terms "hostile environment" and such, but when forced with the idea of giving up their toys, some still just respond with the kneejerk cries of "PC" and refuse to budge. Well put, I fully agree.
  9. Yep, about three hours ago.
  10. CDUniverse methods of payment
  11. Haven't played this for a while (there's still an enormous pile of unplayed discs on the floor of my living room...), but I was very impressed when I first heard it. A great disc and, IMO, a much, much better album than Raining on the Moon, which I didn't like at all - sold that one right away.
  12. For overseas orders, it's $6.99 for the first disc and $1.50 for each additional disc.
  13. I just heard on the news that Johnny Cash has died. I don't have any details.
  14. This is very sad news, and very bad for democracy and freedom. Let's hope they'll get the lunatic soon.
  15. There's already a thread about these, including a link to Mosaic.
  16. For those who don't want or can't afford the complete 10CD Verve box, this 3CD-set might be a good alternative. Street date is October 21, and it can be pre-ordered now from CDUniverse for $34.99.
  17. I sent three PMs today and everything seems to be fine.
  18. Sold most of them, still have about 10 (early Monks, Powells, Blakeys)
  19. I don't like jam sessions and blowing dates - well, I don't like most blowing dates. I agree with Templejazz's remark in his Coltrane Prestige thread, they're often too drawn out and rambling; to my ears musicians sometimes sound ill-matched, and most of the time I find sessions like these not very interesting.
  20. One of them can't come over here. B) ...And the other one doesn't want to B)
  21. That's why I wanted to check here on these sessions. I'm not usually a fan of the "blowing sessions" cuz I've heard a bunch that have fallen short of my expectations, ie too drawn out, rambling, lousy sound, etc. I'll check out some of the above recommendations though. Well, to be honest, they're not exactly my cup of tea - and that's an understatement...
  22. If you're used to the great Coltrane Atlantic and Impulse! albums, you'd better keep in mind that some of the Prestiges are typical 1950s blowing sessions with an "early" Trane, but it's needless to say, of course, that the Prestige albums with Miles are essential.
  23. Anyway, it's important that this great music will soon be available, not so much whoever mastered it B)
  24. Hm, I had a closer look, and the notes say "Ellen Fitton Mastered using 24-bit resolution by Malcolm Addey", whatever that means...
  25. The Mulligan set was remastered by Malcom Addey; that's a big plus in my opinion. I'm looking forward to that one. The Chambers looks promising, too.
