  1. I hope you do that in 7.1, pepsi!
  2. The NFL owes some people some lunch.
  3. Ha! I guess I can't explain it. It is just so bad, I'd rather look at liner notes. Great trio though, for me.
  4. Awe man. I think it should be a good game. I'm looking forward to it. I'm also with Dan. I feel like Giants might have the edge overall hard to bet against Brady though.
  5. Good stuff here. I like Crystal Fire quite a bit, but had to turn the cover inside out! Seriously. Bothered me that much.
  6. That would be cool if it were truuuuuuue.
  7. Apparently their family has no respect for Bledsoe.
  8. Is this from 60 Minutes perhaps?
  9. Brownie, it is called Vinyl District... in case anyone searches.
  10. Shirter. Thanks for backing me up on that Lon!
  11. Hasn't he been referred to as the middleweight champion? I like him and BN hard bop fine. Sometimes a lot more than fine. He seems technically wonderful, in the moment, and less idiosyncratic than someone like Wayne or Sam. Seems to me, Miles was looking for idiosyncratic, and not just anyone. He would know it when it was there. Turned out to be Wayne Shirter I guess. I personally love chewy chew chew's thing for Hank. And west coast.
  12. So they're called Dirty Loops. Apologies for laziness. I'm on my phone and YouTube info Is limited when embedded. A friend of mine, Bryce McCormick just made a beautiful album of pop songs that he wrote a couple of years ago during a project where he wrote a song a day for 365. Tired of making music for musicians, he and the musicians that were all making music for each other made a wonderful pop album called Let It Go. I'll see if I can work out a link here for you Jim. I think you'd feel good about the music if nothing else. Good vibes and good musicianship. It is a pretty special record as it turns out. Not my usual "bag", but I fell in love with the songs while working on the album art. [quote name='JSngry' timestamp='1327164775' I love pop, but it very seldom loves me back.
  13. The thing about Miles Davis, for me, is that he took his music to places that I could have never imagined until I heard them. Even now, for some reason, a lot of it my memory can't quite handle so it comes across as a surprise each time. Mostly I'm thinking of the music he was a part of before the reclusive hiatus. When I read these posts, I wonder why on earth this/that. But I keep coming back to the fact that my imagination can't even contain the stuff he did do. How could it possibly contain the stuff he didn't. So what the hell. I'm going with everyone involved in this: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voodoo_(D%27Angelo_album) Pino Palladino, ?uestlove, D'Angelo, Soulquarians, Dilla, etc. Surely his music was a part of the preparation for this release. If you don't have it and are minutely interested, Sangrey the hell out of that diem.
  14. It's just one of those threads. Used to be a lot of them back in the day. I'm sure y'all remember. Fantasy Jazz Draft Day!
  15. What is this? I recognize the second tune as Justin Beiber. This guy's vocals are unreal. I know super music when I hear it!
  16. I would have liked to have heard him spar with another trumpet player.
  17. Speaking of Eames: I see middle class white kids in high school here in eastern north carolina wearing satin raiders jackets. Last week I met a kid dressed in perfect detail as Mars Blackmon. This was any other day. I'm pretty sure their parents have no idea who Herman Miller is. Wait, the aeron chair, now available in true black?
  18. Thanks again for the recommendations guys. My friend's recording "Richmond Love Call" has been recognized by Kevin Whitehead in the critics poll here. http://hullworks.net/jazzpoll/11/ballots-06.php
  19. Is this now officially considered a dogpile? Or is this a catpile? Or C: Everything is everything?
  20. I can't believe this has to be explained in 2012.
  21. Surprisingly, I have more from MG's list than Clifford's. Come on man. The Dark Tree? Inessential? But I wouldn't have considered it "free" either... Awesome set.
