  1. Didn't know that about Blakey!
  2. This is actually fascinating to me. Glad to hear Gheorge has a solution. I never considered this before, but y'all are basically wearing binaural mics? I read about these years ago when researching engineer Tchad Blake.
  3. Sounds great. Thanks!
  4. Speling
  5. Grammar.
  6. Get well Brownie! Jeff, nothing to ever be ashamed of around here. And a lot HAS happened in our little corner of the www since you've been away. Some good, some not so. Im sure you'll be caught up in no time. Please stick around.
  7. WellI thought of McPhee's many solo recordings, but they are more out than I think Late is looking for. I distinctly remember listening to that Lucky Thompson album with Shawn, Joe, and Jim in Dallas years ago. I believe there is a long monologue from Lucky on being a musician and the industry. Same record?
  8. Please tell me more about these Lucky Thompson solo recordings!!!
  9. AB goes back to the BNBB days!
  10. RVG would have ruined it with his horrible engineering abilities. Lesser known musicians would have done it better.
  11. Should I be more prepared for disaster? All kidding aside, something about Dan's last post makes me realize that we really don't have much more than hurricane preparedness here. Obviously, I am not a paranoid person. Perhaps to a fault. Sorry to derail. At any rate. Yes, it makes sense to buy CDs. Sometimes I feel like we are having 80different versions of the same conversation, all at once.
  12. Wait. You guys are serious. So Anon attacks with a magnetic storm (how does this work?) and we are checking to see if our albums are ok? So I'm assuming magnetic damage is short-term and our electrical supply and infrastructures are largely unharmed in such a scenario?
  13. Wow. Best argument I have seen for vinyl yet! I'm going with it.
  14. Straw Men, no?
  15. So slow.
  16. Saxophones, flutes, trumpets, monome, accordions, samplers, mixers, tape decks, electric guitars, wurlitzers, etc. Anyone can make wonderful music! Scarecrows are the new scapegoats.
  17. I don't have a bad Steeplechase, though maybe the Joe Bonner took me a listen or two. Proceed with confidence.
  18. I'll try again, but I got a sarcastic tone. If it has knobs/buttons, or an on/off switch, it is not a musical instrument. If it has both, it is a robot.
  19. This is satire. Most of this happened fifteen years ago anyway.
  20. Into Somethin' is a very different record from Contrasts. I like what Grant Green did with his guitar so much more than what so many other jazz guitarists did with theirs.
  21. Absolutely! Glad someone else enjoyed it. I got some of it, but most of it was just vibe. Looked like a good time!
