  1. Yep. Found that one sealed some time last year. Includes sheet music.
  2. I remember my brother and a friend of ours listening to Dtral Away all the time when it was new. I found a used copy last year! Thanks for the reminder! Perfect music for hanging with an infant! Right now he's conked out to Joanna Newsom...
  3. Yes Chris. Shouldn't be an expensive repair.
  4. My hvac shit the bed as they say this past summer after numerous repairs to lengthen its life. I feel your pain financially. Three years ago to the day it quit. My wife was supposed to be hosting a baby shower here. I was out of town on business. It was 43* in the house that week. She stayed at her parents as we had it repaired and the house warmed back up. Hurt.
  5. Happy New Year guys! We rung in 2012 with the birth of my son! Born 11:38pm last night. 8lbs3oz 19.5in Everyone is healthy and happy. I am beside myself!
  6. I have an extra copy. Unopened.
  7. It has been a while since I listened to "Hints..." Thanks for the reminder!
  8. Lately I haven't been focusing on any one musician. Sonny Rollins is someone I listen to on a weekly basis. This past year or so, Warne Marsh is someone I have also been listening to on a weekly basis. I listen to a lot of friends' musics these days as well, most of whom live and play in Richmond, VA.
  9. That was a great show. Yes, it was a great show. And I remember Sam coming out to collect his instruments after the show and he had a look on his face like "I thought we were going play more - where'd the band go?" (answer - to the meet & greet after the show). Saw his trio at a church at Chandler Park in Atlanta. Obviously a very cool church - Derek Bailey played there once as well. If this was 2000-2001, I was there!
  10. A mini would be an excellent choice considering you don't need a new monitor, keyboard, mouse, and portability is not an issue. Go refurb. No question. I think you'd get along fine with some of the other models listed, but with more frustrations. Good luck and have fun with your new computer!
  11. Why don't you mail him one?
  12. These cover artists surely weren't doing anything to help sell this music.
  13. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to shake his hand, introduce myself to him, and thank him for his music.
  14. I saw Houston play for the first time today against my Panthers. I understand they had a bad game, but Arian Foster definitely looked good, as did the defense for most of the third quarter. Other than that, unless they just had a really bad game, I don't see a long season for them.
  15. What was the tulip craze? I missed it, and it seems like something I would have liked to have been a part of.
  16. I only discovered this stuff this year. It seems I am a big fan of the stuff that Kat did not like! Charles Stepney.
  17. Nice! I love the enthusiasm.
  18. Happy Birthday Jim!
  19. I get work through FB all the time. About once a week I get a new design job... Album art, poster, book jacket. I have blocked folks, decided not to share with folks, etc, but I'm with noj. Good way to stay in touch with real friends across the globe, and a great way to get to know my cyber friends more personally.
  20. When I said "barely anybody knows anything about", I meant the general public. This is a very niche audience we are talking about here. Here we are on a jazz board and it seems that most of us don't even have a Nicholas Payton record on the shelf. Just being objective. Most other musicians seem to be going on about their business because this has absolutely ZERO effect on their lives. Haha. Post Dilla. Sure. I'm confused because I thought it was Post New Orleans Modern. Lots of jazz musicians playing Dilla these days and it don't sound like this!
  21. I'm actually with Jim. I finally gave in and clicked the samples. No, I wouldn't buy this album for $0.99, but it definitely didn't sound as bad as y'all are making out to. I think it has more in common with an Amp Fiddler record than anything. You know what? In the end, we've got a little shit talking going on between musicians that barely anyone knows anything about. Attitudes, egos, etc. The only place that I have seen this topic come up is here and on Facebook by people that post here. None of the musicians that I am "friends" with or that I am friends* with have given it any attention.*actual friends
