I've lonely had the opportunity to listen to this twice. Looking forward to many more... there is so much Music here! Really nice Karl. I can't think of anything else like it. I completely agree with Jim's comment about the parts not being apart from the whole.
Thank you for this music.
My two year old is a regular with me at our local record store. Used vinyl and compact discs. Just yesterday we scored sealed LPs: Moto Grosso Feio, and a small stack of sealed ECMS (Gary Burton). $20.
I have a two year old and a baby on the way. We have three stereos in three rooms; den, office/playroom, bedroom.
I couldn't imagine it any other way. I grew up with a stereo in my bedroom. My kids will too.
I don't have anything by him, but I like him. Local fm radio station plays him a lot, and I have a cousin who plays him a lot. Live Music Archive too I think!
Thanks guys. Keep them coming if there are others. A friend of mine just released an album and he referenced a short list of solo trombone albums. The Paul Rutherford was not listed! I will track it down.
If you believe what you say Joel, why are you asking cyber friends for money. Where's the personal interaction there?
"Fuck you all."
I hope your day gets better.
I immediately connected with "The Painter" and "Hard Blues", less so with "Dogon", but repeated listening has been great. Almost like peeling layers of an onion, one listen at a time. Interesting because my initial impression was that "Dogon" was the least demanding of them all.
In my day it was breakdancing how-to's, choose your own adventures, Italian sports cars and helicopters, Bo Jackson biographies, and Allen Lowe hillbilly music dissertations. How do those sweaters fit Chuck?
