  1. It seems to have been the 'early days' for way too long!
  2. Today's speed, according to the Talk Talk free checker: 1.14 Mbps. I know the issue is not technical as I *can* get speeds over 5Mbps (oooo!!). It's just rare. Did I mention that Talk Talk are garbage? I should put that in my signature.
  3. I think Venus was a paradise until humans messed it up, were forced to leave, and came to what men now call 'Earth'. Other narratives of the origin of human life on earth are also available.
  4. See, that hurts my eyes. But if you can't see it I guess you're OK. Accentuate the positive!
  5. This one is an excellent 'hot' West Coast session. It was reissued on CD as part of the Conn 'West Coast Classics' and is definitely worth seeking out. I guess he's going for the very recent TOCJ reissues...
  6. "All Our Reasons", due for release March 16, along with an Anders Jormin title.
  7. I'm going to look out for that next time I am in Moscow! All I found there so far is Guinness...
  8. Wouldn't it just save time to close down the entire internet and imprison anyone who has ever accessed it?
  9. if it's not available in your region, i'd be delighted to ups you gratis 2 or 3 bottles. Well thank you for the offer - I'd be afraid they would break! We need a transatlantic stout pipeline. The only bottle I found available in UK was as a 'collectable' (!) on ebay! I have friends in Siberia who would normally help me with such a thing, but since its from Ohio that won't work...
  10. Wait a minute. It's from Ohio!
  11. I want some!
  12. The 'album notes' state 'not yet reissued on CD' - so there is a scarcity factor.
  13. Just saw this thread. Love it that the king of dull picks his own CD as one of his top 10. In answer to the question about jazz on the internet, for an extra jazz top-up including concerts and interviews there is always something to be found on the BBC iplayer - start here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/categories/music - and look around. There is also plenty in other genres, including the 'world music' category where you will find Late Junction, a particularly eclectic program where you might find world, contemporary classical, improv, or just plain 'other'.
  14. I want to know about the Siberian stout - I didn't know there was such a thing. I think it would be good for all of us in these times. That, and Brahms.
  15. This is not your day. Hope things start to go better soon.
  16. Oh and here's a direct link to the stream: http://soundcloud.com/free-range/sets/free-range-co
  17. Well I feel for your loss.
  18. or livestock
  19. I like those threads where someone asks for a (=one) favorite CD and before long people are posting lists of box sets!
  20. That's it - thanks for checking.
  21. Thanks Pete.
  22. I don't think so, but if I had access to my LPs I'd check. Can someone check please? Well, Worrell's name is not on the old single-disc Hues album. There was a two-LP issue of some of Rivers' trio stuff at one point - I don't have that. I don't know whether this means anything, but in the notes to Crystals, Rivers thanks a long list of musicians who were not on the record but had performed or rehearsed his pieces. Worrell's name isn't there. Well I also have the 2-LP version, but not to hand. This is a bad thing to get obsessed about.
  23. I don't think so, but if I had access to my LPs I'd check. Can someone check please?
  24. So now we're on 90... I never heard any of the ones you just listed!
  25. I was trying to figure out how this misattribution happened. I thought maybe it is because Worrell is on the Shepp Live in San Francisco which was a CD release in the same batch as the Rivers and the data migrated across (it can happen). His supposed presence on the CD sessions is often mentioned (!). I haven't been able to check the LP to see if that has correct info. It would be pretty luxurious trio-nomics to tour with two bassists and alternate them!
