  1. You do know that the prices you listed from the different interfaces are exactly the same, don’t you?
  2. Only on this board. Pity they never got round to digitising these ‘missing’ titles. Hipnosis is hardly top-drawer, but I’d still like to hear that King LP... PS Just remembered Hipnosis is on the Moncur Select. Duh.
  3. And never issued in CD, surprisingly.
  4. And let’s not forget the Hipnosis part of the Hipnosis two-fer...
  5. Well, er...I hope Don Was agrees with you and puts this one out! Mind you, I’ve got the original, so, ...
  6. Thank you - I sent you a PM.
  7. Noted. If these come round again I’ll be waiting. In the meantime, this:
  8. Passed on that series but wish I had bought a few. The US releases are a bit lacking.
  9. How about a release of High Frequency?
  10. Maybe, but it’s on Spotters and - well, you know...
  11. Usually more like ‘Round About 4 a.m.’ for me...
  12. Ok well without a link, enjoying McPhee's Journey to Parazzar on Not Two [edited - duh] - especially for the great John Edwards...
  13. So I am sure it used to be possible to add Spotify links to posts - with an image and not just a link - but now I caaaaaan't do it. What's the secret?
  14. Glad you approve! This was a very local gig played at the St Gregory Centre for Music at Canterbury Christ Church University - as part of Sarah’s PhD submission to an audience of about forty including her supervisor and examiner! They played for an hour and a quarter, first as a quartet, then Sarah and Mark (maybe the highest of an evening of high points), then Sarah with Steve and John, then a sprightly duet of those two while Sarah took a ‘chops break’, and a final quartet section. The whole group is just the best, as needs hardly be said, and Sarah is so clever and refined. As good as it gets. The Ches Smith trio I know just from The Bell. I can only imagine how good they can be live!
  15. Tastes, ideas, feelings, all move on. Things that seemed great a few years ago may pall - and vice versa. So best of two decades makes only a certain kind of sense. One for me that stands out as both fresh and a consolidation at the moment though is Parker/Guy/Lytton, Music for David Mossman: live at Vortex, London (Intakt). A list of one!
  16. Just back from a pleasant evening with Sarah Gail Brand, Steve Beresford, John Edwards and Mark Sanders. The best improv quartet in the world? Quite possibly.
  17. Downbeat - determined to prove that jazz is not and has never been an art form - long ago cornered the market in tedious self-indulgent lists. I love the fact that ‘rising stars’ include people in their fifties - how long does it take! So I’m more grateful if people single out a few things and say why. http://downbeat.com/digitaledition/2019/DB1908_critics_poll/_art/DB1908.pdf
  18. still out there, but
  19. Splendid isolation. Still, it will slow down those Andorrans...
  20. I figure that Brexit will put paid even to euro imports for me...
