  1. Paul Motian's cymbol annoys the shit out of me on Luck Be A Lady. Beside that; great song, great album... Guys and Dolls like vibes..
  2. I been meaning to get that one. I see the cover all the time. It was just RVG'd right? For anyone who has heard it, is it just improvisations?
  3. Yea, it sucks that the organ trio plays the least amount of tracks.
  4. This DVD is killer. Don Pullen is quite an organist. I learned a lot just by watching him play Bolivar Blues. He changed the whole way I play chords now. The rest of the DVD is awesome. Scofield's sound is cooking, though sometimes I wish he'd get a more beautiful sound for those ballads. Marvin Smitty Smith is a freakin monster. And Joe Lovano is pretty nice too on the last set. If you haven't bought this, it is highly recommended.
  5. Why does Lonnie wear a turban?
  6. The Gigilo beats Sidewinder hands down, and every other Lee Morgan I've heard.
  7. HOLY CRAP LOOK WHAT I FOUND, IS THIS GOOD??
  8. Where would I go about finding one?
  9. Definately. That's the main reason why i quit piano. They are two completely different instruments; in sound and technique. When i was talking about what key it's in, I meant the key of the original recording.
  10. "The greatest obstacle to enlightment is laziness," Buddha.
  11. Well, that's a pretty simple song. I forget what key it's in. I think it might be in the same key as blue train, or it might be an f blues. You can do it.
  12. Just get a book. Learn some chords, some scales, and some heads. It onyl took me about a year to get decent, so if you practice hard, you'll master it.
  13. Phaser Would this work?
  14. Not yet. I want to go into the store with some kind of information on what to look for.
  15. How about any kind of modules that have organ sounds that i could perhaps put into my keyboard and into my amp to make it sound like a real b-3?
  16. I been thinking about making either piano or guitar my main instrument. I guess I'm meeting half way. I always loved that greasy sound. I been learning some organ technique. My keyboard has a pretty lame organ sound, and I'm sick of calling myself a so called "organist" and not even own one. I'm looking for something close to an organ. Either like a portable organ or some kind of electric keyboard that has a REALLY authentic organ sound and is easily affortable; something like in the 300-700 dollar range. Any recommendations?
  17. I was never a real big fan of Keith Jarrett. I was with my friend, and he bought Keith Jarret, Gary Peacock, and Jack Dejohnette, Up For It. A relatively new release from ECM records recorded live overseas. I abosultely fell in love with this trio. Jack has always been a musical drummer, but I was never in tune with his recordings with Jarrett. Now I'm making it my mission to find as many Keith Jarrett Trio albums as I can find. The album Up For It is highly recommended.
  18. As much as that's a great album, I'd rather others that haven't even been done at all.
  19. I bought my copy. Do you even have it?
  20. If you kept your mout shut and the majority of people who are are posting in this thread weren't assholles, there would be no problem. Everything I try here just gets fucked up. I can't win.
  21. That thread doesn't exist. Fuck you
  22. I'm sure it'll seem worth it if it completes your collection. It's a Blue Note classic. I'd get it, if I had all the other essentials already.
