  1. Doggy Dog plays trumpet now. Check out his new straight ahead jazz release.
  2. When I drive my car downtown to J&R, and I get there at 2 PM, I usually walk into the store at 2:45. Parking sucks.
  3. May I add, the Dominick Duval you mentioned.... His kid is the bassist in my group! Big Dom is a helluva bassist, as well as Dom Jr. who plays in my group and did my first gig.
  4. Sorry. Parking a big van is easier than a trailer. ← I guess you guys have another thing coming. In New York City, you gotta walk a lot. If drive a car anywhere you want to go in the city, plan on parking a ways from where the place is that you are going to. And that's just for a sedan. You gotta be quick driving in NYC! No wimpy guys! Wiggle in n' out of those crappy drivers, and the big gigantic buses, oh I bet you can't wait!!!! There's big vans all over the place. A trailer??? Good luck!
  5. One step ahead of ya!
  6. Yeah, he was a pretty funny guy. It was a show mainly for Al Hirt. I was about 5 or 6. The concert was done in three sets by three different bands. First, Pete came out with a hat, and it looked like Fountain had a pony tail. Then he pulled the hat off of his head, and so went the pony tail with it. He played; I wasn't really into hard bop yet, so I really enjoyed it. Then came out the Dukes of Dixieland. Pretty good. Then the moment I was waiting for, Al hirt. He was the most boring part of the show. He obviously couldn't play anymore, and half of his band came out either in a wheel chair or in crutches.
  7. All the songs are late night blues played with tremendous feeling and soul. Here's the best way to experience this album: put on headphones and turn off all lights in your listening room. Remove all outside stimuli and let the music take over. You should be transported, thrilled and amazed. Or, on the other hand, if you are like the people who don't "get" this album the way others do, you will fall asleep, and fortunately you will have the lights out already so you can enjoy your nap. ← I'm afraid if I turn off the lights, my stereo shall shut down. Musta been wired that way or sumthin. On a serious note, I sampled the album a couple of minutes ago. I get the over all theme. It's very soulful. Harris's Blue Riff was kind of grooving. I doubt most drummers would really dig this album, but just listening to this album, it's really sensual. I'll try putting it on, when my girl comes over next week.
  8. I was worried about that. All the songs are slow? I kind of got the impression reading the linder notes in the car on the way home from vacation.
  9. The fucking album hasn't even been released yet.
  10. I just bought Stanely Turrentine & The 3 Sounds' Blue Hour today, in PA at an antique indoor flea market. It has been one i have been wanting to check out. I guess, I can scratch that one off the list.
  11. I sure hope everything is okay. He was my first concert I ever went to. I sure hope is well.
  12. I'll tell my drum teacher about it. Maybe with a few conections, I can get Jeff Pamler to come. I have some connections to him, if I'm lucky, I can get him to come.
  13. Ike Quebeck, It Might As Well Be Spring
  14. I checked out the website, I can't find any info on the concert. Any help?
  15. I got one of those in my basement.
  16. It's $3.29 round here.
  17. You mean like Spyro Gyra? ← Um, not smooth jazz slick!
  18. You see, the low "E" keys are on the right, and the high "E" keys are on the left.
  19. Yup. I just gotta get my parents to take me out all the time now.
  20. How about, "How does your MOM feel about you hangin here?"
  21. Yeah, he sucks. HIs music blows. It's not jazz. It's boring. etc. but so are most smooth jazz artists, why don't ya pick on them 4 a change! :bwallace2:
  22. Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
