    Trifle

Awesome band!! I'm looking for their album First Meeting. The song New Religion is a gas! Anyone know mmore about this group?
  4. , well there's already a bassist, so take away the pedals, and some background on how to get it up and running, I should be alright.
  5. That's what I was going to ask. I need some 101 first. I don't call myself an organist, but i play keyboards and piano so, I guess I can do it.
  6. Wow, I just got this email from this musician: What's up, I'm holding a recording session in Brooklyn where I need an organ player. The recording session is on Saturday April 8th from 12pm-10pm in a Brooklyn recording studio where there a hammond b-3 organ there waiting to be played. If interested, let me know and I'll give you the further details. I think he's already got a bass player, so there's no problem. I can't wait.
  7. I took the top off, and the stem is there, just the hammer that looks like its snapped off. The damper on the middle E key is not working also.
  8. A couple of the lower end hammers need to be replaced.
  9. My up right Baldwin piano sounds horrible. It is old, in bad shape, and the move down the stairs probaly didn't help. I noticed it is definately out of tune. I'm thinking of getting it tuned. But what does this entail? The sound is all low and muffly. Will tuning it return it to the sound it should sound like? Or is that restoration?
  10. This tune is a bitch. Get the feel for the changes first.
  11. Dave Burrell-Kenny Burrell Philly Joe Jones- Jo Jones Bill Evans-Bill Evans Jimmy Smith-Jimmie Smith-Johnny Smith
  12. Jim, who is that in your avatar..
  13. Recordings always seem worse to the actual musicians than the people listening, and it also seems better while you recorded than when you listen to the playback.
  14. That's amazing. Nice albums to come out on RVG
  15. When is this show on?
  16. Interested in hearing vibes and organ work together. I saw this album in FYI yesterday. Had no idea it was brand new...

    Sco & MMW

I heard about Scofield and MMW collaborating again..... It said on John's site that it was to be released in the Fall. Would that be this fall..? Anyone know?
  18. You our correct, sir.
  19. I'll sure send ya some bread.. This is are place too!
  20. How do you carry around yours?
  21. Well, it's not like I'm starting out. I have been playing the piano for a while, and can get through most tunes in the real book. It has been fairly recently I have been considering getting an organ and making it my main instrument. Plus, most people I know don't really like organs, or it's easier to get gigs as a pianist. I figure I'll call myself a pianist, get an organ, play with the organ on gigs whenever I can, and experiment with other keyboards such as the fender rhodes and synths and stuff. On the side I'll teach myself the pedals, and then I'll see where I am at that point.
  22. I think I'll stick to the piano.
  23. Do you think an organist could make it, and gain respect from fellow organists if he/she didn't use the pedals or play bass? I'm trying to think if there's anybody that never did the bass and always played with a bass player, besides Shirley.
  24. Jackson. Actually, I don't really like Bobby Hutcherson's albums that much. I guess I don't really like avant garde vibes. But I believe he does have some straight ahead stuff out there. Roy Ayers is good, but his music is horrible. Tjader is another favorite.
  25. Funny I should read this. Kevin Covais is my cousin. I never met him, but he sings allright.
