I've tried a lot of tone variations on my Hammond. I got pretty close to that classic B-3 sound. (jimmy smith, larry young on unity, and into somethin) But it's not quite there. In the back, its got an input for a speaker. Would a leslie speaker cabinet help the sound, or just the volume?

I dig In My Time of Dying. But disk two is wierd, circus music. Led Zep 2 is my favorite, then comes Houses of the Holy, then 1, and that's the only Zep albums I ever heard..

Kenny Dorham had tremendous chops. I'll be the third person to recommend Whistle Stop. Mark Elf does a nice version of Philly Twist which opens up the Dorham album.

Or, Gary Burton, Country Roads. He doubles up on acoustic and electric.

I just bought this album. I had to break down and get it finally. Heck, it's got my favorite drummer, an organist, and a personal favorite guitar player. I haven't listened to it much yet though.

I believe that's Sinatra's scatting from Strangers In The Night. No, thats one of the songs on the original lp.

I think it's probaly better to make this list jazz musicians, not albums. Either way, taking a century of music, and picking out the best recordings is almost an impossible task.
