Found it! Thanks!

It's a lot more melodic, IMO. It could easily have been titled Colours for all the chromatic chances it takes. Especially the droning "Euterpe."

Was listening to the Miles/Blackhawk set last night, and couldn't get enough of the ferociously swinging drumming of Jimmy Cobb. I've been familiar with Cobb for about as long as I've listened to jazz, but never really noticed Cobb before. Until now. What is it about his playing that is so damn infectious? It sounds like simple timekeeping; then he drops some kinda bomb, or hits those toms with what sounds like ten extra arms and doesn't even blink or break a sweat!!! Is he still active? I did a search on allmusic, and noticed he's on a very recent Von Freeman with Richard Wyands on piano! Has anyone heard this, and is it as good as the lineup suggests? I hope he's still fairly active! I gotta dig through my collection and see what else of his work I've been overlooking!

I have this CD somewhere, so this is a BF first for me: a tune off an album I have. However, I remember that it didn't make much of an impression on me and after re-reading my comments in the guess thread: .....it looks like I haven't really missed much!

Maybe I should have chosen Albums of the Week and made it a multiple choice discussion. B-)

Yeeesh... 24 straight innings without a run. The Rangers haven't scored since the third inning of Wednesday's game. They've scored all of two runs in their last three games. Bleccchhhh!!!! See Dan? What'd I tellya?

I would've liked a Fahey record, myself.

I’ve deleted my above-quoted posts, as they were in very bad taste and should never have been posted. My apologies to all who were offended. There are much better ways to express anger over a horrible incident; unfortunately, I didn’t choose very wisely.

Fuhgeddaboutit! I predict a three-game sweep for Boston this weekend. The Rangers are lousy on the road to begin with, and their much-vaunted offense has taken its long-awaited swoon southward. Oh well; it was fun while it lasted. And while it may seem fruitless, GO RANGERS nonetheless!

Last chance before I try to pawn them off on eBay.

Daughter's Math Homework - NEED HELP!!!
Big Al replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Al, how do you get that 1:25? Sheer stupidity, pure & simple. Y’know how when you’re about to fall asleep, you have some kind of mind-boggling revelation, but you’re either too tired or too lazy to get up and do anything about it? Well, right before I fell asleep last night, it occurred to me that I answered that problem with the assumption that she was drawing three ACES (of which there are only four), as opposed to three SPADES (of which there are thirteen). Unfortunately, when I realized this, I was almost asleep and the computer was shut down. So, had the problem been for three ACES, then she would’ve had a four-in-52 chance (1:13) on her first draw; a three-in-51 (1:17) on her second draw; and a two-in-50 (1:25) on her third draw. Scary thing is, I’m an accountant by day. -

Isn't it like this: on the first draw, she has a 1:13 chance; on the second draw, a 1:17 chance; and on the third draw, a 1:25 chance. So unless I'm thinking this incorrectly, she has a 1:(13*17*25) chance, or 1:5525 chance of drawing three consecutive spades. I'm assuming it's consecutive. Is that part correct? Or does she put the card back in the deck after drawing it? -
I’m not sure what the initials OBI stand for; I know it’s the outer spine-cover that was used on Conns for a while. Don’t know why they stopped making them.

A plug for my man, Big Al (UA), who's also got some mighty tasty gems on his sale list as well! I'm hittin' the hay, folks. PMs and e-mails will be answered in the order in which they are received (geez, didn't that sound like one-a-those lame computerized customer service "hold" messages: "Your money is very important to me. Please stay by your computer, and I will answer your PM/e-mail in the order in which it was received. For "hold" music, I suggest listening to Count Basie. That's what I'm listening to as I meander here......)
