  1. Yes and yes. A QB is only as effective as his offensive line lets him be. Of course, having Butterfingers Owens on your team doesn't help, either.
  2. Couldn't agree more, but it's also perfectly fitting for the Jerry Jones era and an ominous sign for the Death Star in Arlington era which begins next year. I agree with Sangrey: this isn't all Romo's fault. AFAIC, the blame starts and ends with the men at the top: Jerry, Wade, and Jason Garrett.
  3. OK gang, I got the CDR and the link to the download has been sent to Durium. All I can tell y'all is that this disc MORE than lives up to the claim "Keep Swingin'"!
  4. I still haven't received the e-mail notices, but maybe those got cancelled once I placed my order for them.
  5. Well, so much for BMG's e-mail notification; I guess you sign up to receive an e-mail when a title arrives, but then they don't tell you. I just ordered the Clark, Mobley, and Turrentine thanks to seeing them listed here.
  6. John Lewis' Afternoon in Paris perhaps? That's the one I saw at one of the Arlington HPB's. They also have "140g vinyl" stickers on them as well.
  7. Speaking as both, I hate it.
  8. DRAT! And right after I took advantage of the buy 1 get 5 free sale! Oh well... Maybe it'll last long enough for the next wave of stuff I'm waiting for!
  9. It has been TOO long since I've heard Sangrey play live. Here's hoping that changes in the coming year. Happy birthday, Jim!
  10. Yeah! Let us enjoy our delusions in grandeur, 'k?
  11. I thought FRIB was short for First Republic International Bowl. This isn't about football, is it?
  12. Whoa AND yowza!!!
  13. I love the "Definitive" version, but I've never heard the "Avid" version. The "Definitive" version is aptly named, IMHO.
  14. Speaking of, this is kind of what frustrates me about this mass deletion. Surely the continual licensing of these evergreens to audiophile labels (who sell their pressings for top dollar) have got to be offsetting costs somehow. And on a related note, let's delete a bunch of titles while releasing our own LP/CD packs of stuff that a) everyone who cares has probably already got on audiophile vinyl released in the last couple of years and b) anyone who cares has probably bought a dozen times already. I understand everything can't stay in print forever, but when you look at the number of different issues of Soul Station in the last few years, you have to ask if we could have a little less Soul Station and a little more Dippin'? Actually, I think we were lucky that Dippin' was even reissued at all. No kidding.
  15. What's amazing is that, with the exception of A Fickle Sonance, these RVGs only came out within the last three years.
  16. Happy Birthday, GoM! To borrow a signature line from another member, may you and your terrific "Night Lights" keep swinging!
  17. Correct - it is Art Farmer ! Any ideas on track details? It's not from "Gentle eyes", though that has a rather similar approach. My guess is, it's the title track from "Crawl space" on CTI. (Not Freddie Hubbard on CTI, but Art Farmer on CTI - very subtle!) MG Ah, yes! Gentle Eyes was the record I was thinking of! I could see the cover, but couldn't remember the name. So is it a CTI? I was re-looking at sidewinder's comments about my guess at this: Not Freddie on CTI - although again I can hear why you might think so. Does that mean that it's a CTI, but it's not Freddie? I see it's been established that it is definitely NOT Freddie; if this is a CTI, I've GOTS to find this one!
  18. Well now I feel better about not getting this one, since I don't have the album from which it is drawn. Yet!
  19. You KNOW I want a part of this!
  20. Good heavens, folks, JUMP ON THIS if you've ever even remotely thought about wanting this. It is worth every penny and then some! I can personally vouch for Alec's good service.
  21. That, my friend, is NOTHING to be ashamed of!
  22. When I read the story in the paper this morning, my first thought was that Satriani plays so many thousands of millions of notes per second, just about ANYbody could be plagiarizing him without even knowing it.
  23. I bet Jerry Jones is very interested in making Plaxico a Cowboy in the very near future. He'll fit right in with T.O. and Pac-Man.
  24. I'll have a glass of scotch and toast your dad's birthday and memory tonight.. One very cold winter night I stayed at his place on a trip back from either Baker's or Cliff Bells and when I went to my room there was a lovely bottle of scotch and a scotch glass and a bottled water waiting for me on the night stand. Your dad was the quintessential host and a great hang.. I sure miss him. beautiful memory! What conn said. I never met the man, and your memory makes me miss him as well.
