  1. In the case of Tjader tracks, no. I have the Crown and the Fantasy issues for comparison, and the Famtasy LPs and reissues always sound a bit better.
  2. This weekends's evening bottle: CANTINE SAN SILVESTRO, ROERO, ARNEIS, PIEMONT, DOCG, 2019
  3. Probably sounds terrific on a high end system.
  4. I just learned from local news that alto saxophonist Emil Manghelsdorff, Albert*s elder brother, died this Friday at age 96. He was a mainstay of the local scene for decades, and renowned for his cultural engagement and his importance as a witness of the cultural situation during NAZI times, about which he spoke frequently., The photo was made in 2009. 5. R.I.P.
  6. Got this one today for cheap. A cross section of his Everest albums, with Charlie Shavers, Clifford Scott, and a young Grady Tate. No personnel credits, but all are found in the Lord Disco.
  7. Yes, but has it changed since that bulb was made?
  8. The first Blue Note CD reissues of the three sessions for No Room For Squares & The Turnaround re-arranged the music in session order, including all the tracks first issued on Straight No Filter and some previously unreleased tracks. I, too, prefer the session order CDs, but most nostalgic fans seem to want "original LP sequence". https://www.discogs.com/release/4990206-Hank-Mobley-No-Room-For-Squares https://www.discogs.com/release/6130357-Hank-Mobley-The-Turnaround https://www.discogs.com/release/11174699-Hank-Mobley-Straight-No-Filter The three tracks of the Straight No Filter session originally were intended for release with some tracks from the A Slice Of The Top session, but that never happened.
  9. Over here you get these in many variations, they look cool and nostalgic.
  10. Check the voltage or it will blow up.
  11. This afternoon was harp time:
  12. A day early for the weekend bottle, but the store mamager gave me the open bottle as a bonus after I bought all remaining seven of this wine: CUVE 102 - BIO** 2020 – FR-BIO-01 Languedoc Appellation d’Origine Protégée Artisans Partisans, Pierre Bories, Domaine Le Champ des Murailles (Carignan 50 %, Grenache 40 % und Syrah 10 %)
  13. We all believe in you, Allen.
  14. That was the first LP he released! Here's a list of releases: https://www.discogs.com/label/124617-Spotlite-Records
  15. In the car today:
  16. Been listening through these new releases yesterday- all excellent and in fantastic sound!
  17. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/dec/26/tony-williams-obituary Tony Williams, the founder of Spotlite Records, died at age 80 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for a few years. Spotlite reissued all the Dial sessions of Charlie Parker and others, along with a lot of rare small label bebop sessions and air checks. I still have almost all of these LPs on my shelves. R.I.P. - thanks for this deep introduction to bebop.
  18. Where is the current compilers list? I know I am on next month, but stil .....
