  2. I may go for this as I am interested in the genesis of Take Five. The released take to me sounds like there is an obvious edit before the drum solo.
  3. This afternoon, Blue Note 10-inch sessions time:
  4. Played it for my wife this afternoon - she found it just as moving as I do. After that, Fauré's cello music.
  5. Pipoli Bianco Greco / Fiano - Basilicata IGP 2019 vintage - one of my favourite white wines. The new vintage is fine.

  7. Excellent presentation! I saw the original in 1970 when my late parents took me to the 500 year exhibition in Nuremburg. Still have the catalogue they bought. A remarkable artist. I highly recommend reading his diaries (no idea if there's an English translation). Thanks for linking!
  8. My wife's stepbrother has a big jukebox from the late 1960's. Sounds terrific!
  9. It all depends on my daughter wanting this big lot or not. If not, I will think of donating different parts to institutions or people that can make use of it, or leaving instructions where to sell it. Same for my library.

  12. Funny to read what I had 17 years ago. The Thorens TD 160 is still there, with a second headshell furnished with a Grado mono cartridge which means a great improvement when playing back LPs with mono grooves. CD/SACD player: Marantz SA 7001 KI signature Amp: Marantz PM-KI-PEARL-Lite PM 7004 Speakers: Focal Chorus 710 Headphones: Focal Spirit Classic Currently the phones are in the bedroom where I run an old Pioneer CD player PD-7700 with a Musical Fidelity Y 90 headphone amp. But I save on a set of Focal Chorus 760 speakers with a Mircromega MyAmp unit for that room. The Phonak speakers are in the basement, I plan to set them up with some leftover components sitting there as soon as I have moved superfluous stuff from that room.
  13. So sorry to hear this. His rendition of "Send In The Clowns" on the Galaxy LP Peace is one of the most moving pieces of jazz I ever heard. R.I.P(eace).
  14. Noro Morales His Piano And Rhythm* ‎– Rumba Rhapsody Nice compilation of his 1940`s recordings on Tumbao, played yesterday in th car.
  15. https://www.discogs.com/Tito-Puente-Hong-Kong-Mambo-The-Very-Best-Of-Tito-Puente/release/9654255 Acutally a reissue of Dance Mania with two outtakes added, one of which was never issued anywhere else. I just compared eight different reissues of Dance Mania's opening track, El Cayuco - they all sound slightly different, although most were remastered by Dick Baxter.
  16. I once included a track from Koppel's disc with Larry Goldings & Bill Stewart in a BFT. That cat can play! http://benjaminkoppel.com
