  1. Cliffhanger : Randy Sandke and Friends : Randy Sandke (tp,flhrn-1) Wycliffe Gordon (tb-2) added, Harry Allen (ts) Mulgrew Miller (p) Peter Washington (b) Kenny Washington (d) New York, December 6 & 7, 1999 Let's face the music and dance Nagel-Heyer (G)CD2037 [CD], jazz2jazz (No#) [CD] Nobody else but me - What's new - - Come rain or come shine - - One for Mulgrew - - I fall in love too easily - Cliffhanger (2) - One fine day in May (1) - - I concentrate on you - - Willow weep for me - - No moon at all (1) - - Limehouse blues - Note: jazz2jazz (No#) [CD] titled "Mulgrew Miller - Forget Me Nots". Really a Randy Sandke session. I'd rather get the Nagel.Heyer CD as the jazz2jazz issue seems to be incomplete.
  2. I know, but maybe CD will stay around just like vinyl did. SACD was pronounced dead but still exist. Connoisseurs always were few in number.
  3. The man is blessed! Thanks all for posting this!
  4. That Coles is the only of his albums I never had - one to order, it seems!
  5. Maybe they will just slow down and reduce to one, maybe two new sets each year. I agree the CD boom era might be over, but who knows?
  6. R.I.P. Very sad news. Among many other things, it was great how she featured her mentor, Marcus Belgrave, will play these CDs later today.
  7. Best wishes. Saw her perform in a trio setting a while ago, she was really good and inspired.
  8. The last of Mobley's Blue Note albums missing in my collection. Had an LP copy and sold it, but never got the CD. But last week I thought it was a shame I didn't have it. IMO it is one of the weakest Mobley albums - the two pop tunes fail to inspire him. Pulled it from the mailbox today after work and played it - I like those typical Mobley hard bop tunes the best, and Lamont Johnsons Maiden Voyage inspired final tune - Hancock sophistication going Boogaloo.
  9. The MJQ box is now on Last Chance! I'm glad I bought that one right away.
  10. The Package arrived here a few days ago - sound is excellent. Good to hear Washington Suite without noise (pressed on bad vinyl, at least my copy, as it sounded that way from the beginning). It is still a mystery to me why a flutist of that caliber did not become known better or was offered a recording on a nationally distributed label. Maybe he was too modest about his playing abilities - I don't know. His music has haunted me with its melodies ever since I heard a few tracks on AFN Europe at the time Asha was first released.
  11. Still trying to figure out a way to hook my computer to my turntable and amp - whenever it finally works I will think of you. Where are you located? Cannot be too far from where I live ...
  12. One of the best lute recordings I have heard in recent years, with excellent music from a historically unique but neglected composer - and an auspicious solo debut from lutenist Paul Kieffer.
  13. When I click the links for the samples they always take me back to this page!
  14. Yes, but then the Japanese Blue Note (Jap)TOCJ-66014 [CD] is the only way to go - no other reissue of the four Benskin sides.
  15. The Mosaic LP is not that hard to find: https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/5383641?ev=rb
  16. ... or the license for the MJQ box timed out.
  17. I'd love to have a CD with the complete February 2, 1966 session - the only session never reissued by Impulse in completed form.
