Do People With Big Heads Scare You?
Son-of-a-Weizen replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
A mucher younger Weizen with Al Haig. I was indeed scared of that head!!! -
Just discovered this recent John Hicks Legacy Band release and checked out a few sound clips. I like Larry Willis alot but there seems to be quite a bit of flute. Is the entire cd full of as much flute as the few short online clips seem to suggest?

The bulk of it is in Sept. due mainly to decent weather.......in some years it actually ends on Oct. 3 or 4. Weird, I know.

I'm a Vikings fan, so Favre ain't high on my list........but damn, I've enjoyed watching him throw the ball tonite. He'll probably come close to his typical 300 yd mark. -
What to do when the sweet-tooth hits...
Son-of-a-Weizen replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I had the sweet tooth thing kick in yesterday and bought a 1 lb halloween bag of Peanut M&Ms. First time in years I've picked any up and they seemed tiny. -
The poster has probably noticed that both Chuck and Lowe have a rather irritating habit of casually flicking attention getting politically-charged comments in the direction of others outside of the prescribed forum. If the duo feel compelled to lob quips outside of the politcal forum, is it out-of-line for other board members like Bixieland to step in to verbally kneecap (in this case) his ass? Hmmm, tough one to answer.......let's have some impartial observer like Chewy decide?

Chris, I'm afraid I have to side with Feather on this -- you really should have spoken first to Toshiko, VI Redd, Marian McPartland, Farmer......plus all of his elementary school teachers and Cub Scout troop leader and before depicting him as an "egomaniacal asshole." ......and here I'd always thought of you as the model of thoroughness!!!

Couldn't we just make due with one treble hook? I mean, the fish is only taking one of 'em. It's suitable revenge for sure....but the fact that you end up concentrating so much on keeping the other flailing treble from puncturing your wrist means that you're failing to free the fish as rapidly and efficiently as possible for the quick trip back to the water. -
ebay madness re: vinyl
Son-of-a-Weizen replied to slide_advantage_redoux's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
Too bad he can't list a small number of items (OOP Mosaics or King JPN BNs) for sale at the site where the largest concentration of jazz fans who keep Mosaic in business happens to roost. Yes, I know....life ain't all about charity and tossing the crowd a bone or two --- no reprimands necessary. ..still, were I in his shoes, I'd probably consider doing that. -

Interesting fantasy...uh scenario. Interesting. If she goes all power hungry killjoy on those of us who've survived and starts issuing proclamations cancelling stuff like the Great Alaska Beer Train 2008 Oktoberfest-Brewhouse Tour (October 4), her days on our new planet are numbered. -
