I saw the K2 version of "Consecration" today, but at $230, it seemed like a rip-off. I see that HMV Japan has a Japanese "Consecration" pressing for about $140. Is this the K2 set? Are all Japanese pressings K2 remastered? I thought that the JPN 'Consecration' K2 set was packaged in the white box.....but since Hans has it, he'll be able to clue us in.

Yes, most definitely! Coincidentally, we watched this one during the the last week of July! Tonite it's disc 3 of the 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' and we get to find out who the 'mole' is -- At this point I'm guessing that it's the foppish Toby Esterhase.

When we met, you seemed like more of a curling kinda guy to me. I went ahead and bought you a nice set of curling stones as an early b'day gift. -

I remember hearing from some Geordies the the old story about the 'Newcastle Ward' at the regional health facility.... Now drinking some Ethiopian Sidamo (nothing but bold in this house) to help purge last nite's Bitburger and Spaten from the system. -
Oh yes, just saw it... Sorry, I misunderstood your earlier post. Naaa don't want those -- I think I'll save my money for overpriced auctions and pick up some more of the Verve mini-lp titles from '02. Wonder how long it will be before they re-release those?

My wife and I have some property up in Northern Minnesota and during our recent visit were doing a bit of scouting for an additional parcel. Here's part of the note that the realtor just e-mailed: Dear ________, There are some good values on Tom Lake because of the remote access. I like the area very much, but I'm biased--we own a 20 acre outlot (no lakeshore) on the south side of the lake. Regarding the links, xxx is lake view only and should not really be listed as lakeshore. xxx and xxx are also not lakeshore. They are on the Stony River near Isabella. The two cabins on Devil Track Lake are older cabins on small lots. One of the cabins has a tree growing through it. hhmm, well that sounds like it could be just what we've been looking for!!!!!

Squirrel mini-emergency

Hey, you know, I'm not a violent person or anything, and I love animals, but it's time to either call animal control or else kill this motherfucker. I don't think he needs to kill it ---- plus he's in Manhattan so he can't exactly borrow one of our 16-gauge jobbers --- but rather pick up one of those super-soaker water guns and drill the sucker a few times over with some good 'ol H20. My guess is he'll bolt. -

Just as he was about to get in, I spilled a *little* scalding coffee on him through the crack he had made between the plastic guard and the window frame - just enough to make him change his mind. Then I quickly yanked the air conditioner out of the window and slammed it shut. There was something wrong about that squirrel. Rabies? I actually was worried about that. The reason I mentioned it in my first post is that he seemed weirdly aggressive and determined for a squirrel - he kept showing his teeth and he was clawing at the plastic guard really hard. I thought it was a rat until I saw the tail. Just catching up on this thread, I'm surprised that he didn't just go ahead and chew through the plastic in the first place. If they can effortlessly tunnel through our heavy duty gutter guards, I'd think an AC accordian screen would be like a piece of spaghetti for one of 'em. -
Been awhile since I checked the Mosaic site and just noticed the Farmer. That's good news for I really wasn't prepared to pick up the existing 2-fer, paired as it is with the unappetizing (imo) Baroque Sketches.

Okay, okay.....so I saw the latest Miles release list and ordered some of those new KoB & Milestones mini-lps from japan.....no need to throw elbows! So what? I'm sure other people here have 8 versions of each too! -
Interesting news, Reinier. So, for example, they would do something like bundle up Una Mas, Whistle Stop and Trompetta and release it as a 2-disc Dorham jewel box set to compliment the existing 'Round About Midnight' set?

Curb Your Enthusiasm Damn that's a funny show! Six Feet Under is one of the best shows of the last decade. I agree. We watch stuff like CSI & House.....and some of the Brit mystery/political stuff. That 3 DVD series 'House of Cards' about the super ambitious PM is pretty good stuff. Tonite we'll start in on "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" series. I was just up in the cabin on Lake Superior for 16 days with no tube......just a couple of Twins games on a tiny staticy am radio at night. Just like the old days. Nice. -
Right....there were (are) Dorham, Monk, Miles, J.J., Blakey (Birdland & Bohemia), Clark, Powell, Rollins and Jimmy Smith JRVG sets.

A first rate series. Ian Richardson is outstanding!

... at least in NYC you don't have to ask. Is he one of the dudes they're talking about in this article?? Future of Orthodox Jewish Vote Has Implications for GOP Small but Growing Group Receptive to Republican Ideas By Jim VandeHei Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, August 3, 2006; Page A06 Republicans are hoping a strong defense of Israel translates into greater support among Jewish voters this fall, but the biggest political benefits are likely to come long after the 2006 campaign concludes, according to political and demographic experts studying Jewish voting trends. The Jewish group proving most receptive to Republican overtures over the past decade is among the smallest: Orthodox Jews. Right now, they account for roughly 10 percent of the estimated 5.3 million Jews in the United States, hardly enough to tip most elections. This is likely to change significantly in the years ahead because Orthodox Jews are the fastest-growing segment of the Jewish population, raising the possibility that one of the most reliable Democratic voting blocs will be increasingly in play in future elections, according to surveys of Jewish voting and religious and social habits.
